Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I just made an adjustment to all my brake calipers. Previously I had centered the caliper on the disc with the pads installed from new. That seemed to work with some later adjustments also. I had a clicking noise going on so started pulling pads for inspection, the calipers were off center...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Both my como and vado are 5.0 and the older model. I am not sure about the paired numbers you asked about. Both mine are set at 25, 60, and 100 on assist. I pedal a lot unassisted, the 25 gives me the 'stuff' for against the wind and up gradual hills. The 60 is for more aggressive hill...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I was looking at my bike status, bought the Como in Sept of '20, the Vado was bought prior to that sometime, one bike has 25 charge cycles, the other 26. The Como has 3k miles, the Vado 2.2k miles, both batteries still 100%. Keep batteries between 20 and 80% charge most all the time, few full...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Went to the bike store and drove a '23 como 5.0. I have to say it was nice. More power than my '20 vintage como 5. It had the front air shock that was really nice. The rear rack looked like a better version. Only down side that sticks in my mind is the handlebar setup. For some reason...

Probably just a two part epoxy would work fine.

    brake pad material

Mcmaster carr has a pretty good selection of friction material. Still nothing thin enough, only 1/8” thickness, which may work on some of the bikes, just have to investigate. Something like jb weld and a vise I would think would suffice to hold the material. Probably want an adhesive that...

    brake pad material

A person can buy material for thicker brake pads, I have yet to see any thin enough for the bike pads. Somebody is making a killing on these things. I am coming up on needing a set. Anybody find any thin enough for our pads?

Surly Big Easy Updates for 2024

I emailed them and asked about the skid loader, they said there should be some news in a few days. Maybe they are between shipments. The sale price of the skid loader is sure appealing, only thing left though is the M. As long as the Big Easy is I bet there is some spring to the frame...

I see guys with knee replacement surgery and think the cost of bicycling is a small price to pay to avoid that path. Riding a bike does wonders for my knees, walking is good for the mind but does nothing for my knees.

Stuck at the end -L or Start -XL of bike size.

I'm in the same boat. Height, shoes, waist, you name it, always right in the middle. I was thinking the other day, if I get another bike, I'll make sure not to go big. I have a couple cane creek suspension seat posts that I can't use, they articulate to the back and down and it is hard on my...

Como Turbo 3.0 wheel cracks after 4 yrs, 6500 kilometers

My experience, from the factory spokes can be all over the place on tension. Motorcycles and bicycles both, just takes too much time to properly set them up. If they haven't been checked within the first few hundred to 600 miles you are missing the boat.

So you couldn't unseat the bead off the rim? Maybe a pair of channel locks, squeeze the tire together getting as close to the bead as possible. Never had that problem. Set it out in the sun. Run over it with something bigger:)
