What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

At least she wasn't an elected official, I guess. I've been pretty lucky with neighbors, but some of the others I've met in retail or service environments seem to spend their entire lives being as hostile as possible, even if there is no benefit to them in it at all. Doesn’t make any sense...

    Recumbent E-bikes

That comment on bollards reflects on all the crap infrastructure that bikers have to deal with, so I won't comment on it here. But weight should certainly be listed. There is only one recumbent that I see occasionally around town ... not electric and a young fit rider, but it looks big and...

    Recumbent E-bikes

Honestly, that video idea seems like a reasonable request , especially if there is no test ride available. Even if they have to make one on the spot, they should want to address the mount and dismount question for other potential customers , and post it somewhere people can see it. And loading...

    What to buy?

Don't have any advice on what to buy (not a mountain bike fan) but a battery 7 years old is at the extreme end of its lifetime, generally only 5 years. Someone else will comment on brand or types of mountain bikes, I'm sure.

    Recumbent E-bikes

I love the idea of a recumbent on trails like you ride, just afraid of them on streets with 9 foot high pickups and SUVs. Flag or not.

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

What Jeremy said. Underlined and bold faced. There's room for all of us, and riding a bike beats riding in a truck every time unless heavy cargo or bad weather is involved .

I need a carry bag for a foldable ebike

Nice idea, but might be too big to check on an airplane or train.

I need a carry bag for a foldable ebike

Montague used to sell one ( IDK still do ?) for their 26 inch wheel folders.

Indeed. Scotland's weather is well known, the landscape, not so much.

It's just ridiculous how great the roads and landscapes in your posts look. And I know I would never ride them even if I lived there because of the hills, distances, and weather always involved in your rides. I just enjoy the scenery....

Looks like you made a wreck, rather than just finding one.

    Got a flat tire?

Electricity is cheap, they make it every day, but a younger body? Not so much.

    Got a flat tire?

It's a better bike than I am a rider so far, so I haven't messed with it. My health (especially lower body strength) deteriorated very badly the last few years. I might have to get the other controller with a throttle at some point, but not yet, dammit .

    Got a flat tire?

He and I still email. He built my bike, after all. The ads turned him off, but he will be back mid September, I think.😉

    Got a flat tire?

Flats are always a topic for newbs, much like saddles. Since he took the time to send it to me, it seemed worth posting ( he's not on the forum much anymore).

That's a beer priced like wine or cheap whiskey. Better last a while.

Hit some sandy dunes along the New Jersey coast. It's like riding onto fly paper . All forward progress just dead stopped. ;)

    Got a flat tire?

More from @PedalUma in response to my questions about liners and sealant: I am making a Pashley Prospero handmade Reynolds 631 gravel bike with a DM02 motor for a 71 y/o woman, to ride with her tent from Seattle, over the Cascades, over the Rockies, and to Maine. Much will be on gravel roads...
