Yeah seem to remember there was also something about him buying the 2 guns as presents ; one for him and one for her. How romantic.

Forgot about a ride I did pre-Storm Dave last Thursday. Headed south across the moor to the town of Ashburton then back up a long steep climb and across the southern and empty part of the moor. 37 miles, 4,127ft. Another lovely sunny day before the storm but once up on top of the moor hit a...

We're in the age of youth it appears. Seixas 19, Del Toro 22 and Matthew Brennan who has already won his first classic and GC win in the 25 Tour of Norway is still only 20! Crazy young.

I remember reading one of the deep dive newspaper stories about it at the time, might have been in the Newyorker. Awful and pretty hard to believe. Coming from Ireland its another reason I'm glad handguns are banned, of course in her jealous rage she might have stabbed her or used some blunt...

Something special about Cornwall for sure. The light is always amazing. Some winter days when Dartmoor has horizontal rain and sheep fly past carried by the gales, if you are on the Western hills of the moor and look down the peninsula, far off in the distance you can see that feckin' Cornwall...

Carlton Kirby - long term mainstay of Eurosport, now TNT/Discovery. been there for 20 years or so I'd guess. Gets a lot of slagging from younger viewers for his kind of waffling style. it can be unintentionally funny actually, but he's been doing it so long that the nature of doing hours of non...

Jesus 19 year old wunderkind Seixas just wiped the floor with everyone. He's certainly got my attention, Del Toro. (Ayuso 38th), Roglic (4th), even Mountain TT specialists like Grosschartner (3rd) all beaten. Kevin Vauquelin INEOS's other big hope, came second, but a disaster for Del Toro 51...

That's what did for him in the Ronde; he had to show off/challenge Pog on a climb, half wheeling him then taking the lead and when the cobbles turned steep, Pog smoothly accelerated (as he does every.single.time.) and Remco was blown. Stupid. He showed over the next 20km as he trailed Pog & MVDP...

About 10-11c, have to look that up - 50F? It gets coldest after the winter, by early March down to 8 or 9c, but from now on will increase rapidly by June hitting 15c and by August if a good summer could hit 18c or 64f.

Not any help to your decision - but as I haven't heard the name in a long while... Back in the late 80s Diamondback were the dogs bollocks, one of the best MTBs around. My friend had an Apex and we spend many a long day on the mountains trashing our bikes and that bike took anything he could...

For Remco, sick of being caught out by other riders sudden gear shift acceleration on the mountain climbs in the early season stage races, so switches back to the king of one day classics, where it must really grate to get caught out by other riders (ie Pog) sudden gear shift acceleration on the...

No bikes - Easter Sunday popped down to Fistral beach post Storm Dave - to blow out the cobwebs, see the surf, which was big and beautiful but useless for surfing, so nobody out, just loads of kids and families swimming (or jumping in the frothy waves) & on bodyboards, the Easter hols started on...

Also x 2 - I'm not anti Pog, how could you be, he's not only extraordinary, but funny, likeable and carries his crown very lightly. No its just there is no secret in his tactics, what he will do is obvious so why not try and counter it by working more together to weaken him and make it harder...

They all worked too damn hard when in that group with Pog! And why? Every gilt edged rider in the race was in that group, nobody in the remains of the peloton was a threat, if Pog wanted to keep away then let him drive it. Remco was stupid (again) by challenging Pog on one hill, it wiped him out...

Howling around the house here. Cat hiding in the kitchen. Heading down to Cornwall for a blowy walk on Fistral beach tomorrow, see the giant surf and if any surfers are risking it. Or if the waves are breaking big and short.

Before the fireworks tomorrow caught the last 5Km of the GP Big Mig over in Navarre near the Basque Country and won for his third time by Basque rider Ion Izagirre at the ripe old age of 37, good on him! The last insanely steep climb was a three way battle between him, Quinn Simmons and a 20...
