So 68f is 20c wow that's warm. Peak water temps in Cornwall in the summer might get to 17/18c, In Ireland in august lucky to get above 15/16c! I would never leave the water where you are, amazing. Looking at google maps so the closest I probably ever got to San Diego was a day sightseeing in...

Nice Tom Pidcock win at tour of the alps. And impressive breakaway ride by young Irish rider Darren Rafferty (EF Education) caught 3km out by leading group but now 17th on GC. Handy climber and very good TT, 6th at the under 23s World TT last year & still only 22.

haha - looking at it just now I'm not even sure it is triple butted, doesn't actually say that on it! Instead... it's so much better, it's made of the mysterious (made up?!) wonder steel, Nitanium?! Nitanium? Is that real? Sounds like Unobtainium!

Among the many rigid 26er MTBs I had back in the 80s and 90s I had a lovely KHS Montana Summit (or Pro? can't recall, think Pro was far more expensive so probably a summit). Lovely bike, was in college in Dublin at the time and many times took it up Three Rock and trashed it around the local...

Looks a very pleasant ride Jeremy. What's the water temp like this time of year? I like swimming in South Cal on trips to LA, though I remember swimming off Malibu I think , with friends (after struggling to find a public beach or one that we could park!) and it was surprisingly chilly, can't...

    Turbo Vado 3

Interesting interview by Ben Delaney with the XDS/X Lab project's manager Patrick Pan at their booth at Sea Otter for this US launch. Along with the 2 ebikes (Vado equiv & SL equiv) they have a whole range of bikes. He wouldn't say which WT team bikes (Spesh, Trek, Colnago Cervelo Canyon etc)...

Riese & Müller Withdraws From US

The only R&M bikes I've seen in the flesh were in remote Kerry outside a pub, a middle aged Dutch couple touring around Ireland and they had every bit of touring kit you could name. They'd come by ferry and were doing big miles with dual batteries etc. The bikes up close were impressive, big and...

A good example - INEOS suddenly looking good on the slopes of the tour of the alps yesterday & today - Bernal climbing very well, great timing coming into the grand tours, INEOS's natural hunting grounds. And what about the excellently named Domenico Pozzovivo climbing like a beast, mixing it...

We're at the point in the season where the first of the Grand Tours is fast coming into view - Giro D'Italia Friday 8th of May so there are a couple of high altitude races for riders to stretch their climbing muscles in anticipation and for teams to make final selections etc. The Tour of the...

    Easy way to clean rotors.

I recently changed my front rotors from 160s to 180s because of steep descents around here, usually 15-20% occasionally 25% and up. The 180mm rotors make a massive difference. Wish I'd done this years back.

    Easy way to clean rotors.

Had terrible contamination on a front set of mechanical discs a couple of years ago. Tried sandpaper on the pads, alcohol on the rotors nothing worked. Chucked both pads and rotor in the dishwasher and hey presto after a normal 3 hour cycle, clean and sparkling!

I have 2 apps - met office and one called Windy. Met is pretty conservative - "only a few drops of rain old fellow, nothing to worry about." Whereas Windy is more dramatic "ITS A FUCKING HURRICANE WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!" So usually it's somewhere in between and both remarkably say sunshine...

Yeah and something like 3800metres of climbing - and in the Netherlands! I saw the crash briefly in highlights, awful one, no time for Jorgenson to avoid it. That changed the race.

Just saw them thanks - no surprise really. Was going to watch the full race but busy day here. Happy for Remco but it was a reduced field apart from Skjelmose. Still a win is a win especially a Classic.

Yeah the post Paris Roubaix YouTube frenzy was pretty mad! For a sport that can't figure out how to to make a profit it keeps increasing interest both on the side of the roads (mad crowds) and online. But I thought this one was interesting because of Silca and he's always entertaining. He's...

Watching the highlights of stage 5 of the O Gran Camino and a brilliant young Italian climber (22) I've never heard of before wins this steep climbing stage from Adam Yates (last 1000m of climb was on cobbles!). His name is Alessandro Pinarello - I mean at what age did he decide to become a...
