Shimano does not list a motor operating temperature, they only publish a battery operating temperature. The later is down to -10C which is not very useful if the motor operating temperature is only -5C. Bosch's does publish this specification, it's -5C for two motor models I checked. Has...

Affirmative on the model. Over 20,000 Kms now in 16 months. The range is a bit less ~ 10-15% in the really cold weather but still great. You'll be happy I'm sure.

The new Ohm mid motor bike is a real treat, an incredibly solid and comfortable ride! I'm still getting more than 120 kms on a charge on my hilly commute with power to spare. I still haven't used the third level BOOST other than once in a while by accident, with the ECO and TRAIL settings...

I really don't miss the throttle or the regeneration of the old hub motor(s) I've had. The rolling resistance is 0 with the mid motor unlike hub motors, and there plenty of "juice" left in these >65 year old legs especially with assist that cuts in without out hesitation.

Hit and passed the 15,000 km the other day in just over 11 months and all is going well. Performance, efficiency, and reliability have all been superior to any of the hub motors I've had over the years.

No the walk mode assist can not be used like you are proposing Dewey. It is only designed to be used with the rider off the bike. I do find it very useful when the tide is out and I have to walk the bike up a very steep ramp. So for me it's great.
