That's a great looking e-bike! Love to see the 3 year warranty too. My current e-bike is running just fine, but once it starts to go down, I'm looking to get a bike just like this one. Meets all my needs as a city commuter! Is there anywhere in Western Illinois that I could arrange a test ride?

10 mile commute. E-bike or standard Bike?

Depends on how much conditioning you want to get and how fit you are. When I used to do a 10 mile commute on a non-electric bike, I was in super good shape and wanting to get a workout. There were definitely days an ebike would have been really nice. Another big factor to consider is wind. A...

Staying warm while riding In the cold winter

Great idea to pedal more to get the body heat pumping! Few things I do: grew out my beard which helps the face a bit, got the battery heated gloves this year which helps the hands instead of the bar mitts, alpaca socks and light boots for the feet, tuck pants into socks for wind, and a balaclava...

    Gonna try my commute again!

Good luck to you! That’s a pretty long commute at 14 mile. When I’m struggling to ride, I start with a goal of just one day per week and usually a Thursday or Friday to get rolling again and that usually helps me get back in the groove.

    Cold weather/wind = Cold head

I wear a balaclava with a thinner stocking cap on top and it seems to help and all fits ok under the helmet but a little snug. When it’s really windy sometimes I’ll still get a real small headache and some of those really windy days, I’ll just drive.

Guide for setting up skinny tires on lectric xp 2

love the reflective tape! great idea. I had a mountain bike with wider tires that i had to really jam to get down in the fairly narrow front bus bike rack holder. that's a really nice looking city commuter bike!

No Keys: What Are My Options? SOLVED

The times I’ve had to use a locksmith they are fairly cheap. I’m excited to hear if that works out for you, hope it does!

Fast Ebike - Loud Wind In the Ear - Hearing Loss?

i bought the standard cat ears off amazon, if i got a do-over i would have got the "slim" version because they are definitely more puffy than i would have guessed. i was nervous the slim wouldn't work as well but as long as they are tight to your face on your strap they just divert the wind and...

Fast Ebike - Loud Wind In the Ear - Hearing Loss?

found wind noise to be quite annoying especially as i bike along river and it's usually extra windy, got the cat ears based on recs from their forum and they work great. almost an odd type of quiet sometimes but i like them.

    Winter Sucks

those are good looking! ive found they knock down the wind pretty nice but i still have to wear gloves in there. actually bought heated gloves this year and they've been nice to have along with the bar mitts.

    Is Bird a dirty word?

for someone looking to test one out, i think a bike shop offers a better experience and allows them to actually test ride the ebikes. theres got to be an ebike shop on every corner in florida by now. i would have a hard time recommending something like that in case in a month or two it craps out...

    Used Crosscore RC

hard pass, not much upside and tons of downside on a used ebike, thats why the used ebike market basically doesn't exist and depreciation is very steep. I asked my local bike shop last weekend if i could do a trade-in of my old ebike if i bought a new one, and he was real straight with me and...

Propel & Vela partner on "Bloom" made in USA light EV's

Very cool news, definitely seeing more and more folks out on the paths/streets with e-bikes. Had a friend go shopping for a new car recently and was shocked at the high prices even in the used market. Makes the cost delta to an e-bike look a whole lot better!

    Final call for statistical significance

Took the survey! Great work and really cool topic too. I think Pedego could advertise their warranty more because even though they are more expensive, they are probably worth it with the warranty. I passed on a Pedego at the time two years ago because they didn't have a great entry level bike...

Which electric system Hub or Mid drive can be turned off and ride like a regular pedal bike?

very difficult to pedal my aventon pace 500 rear hub motor e-bike with the motor turned off. now if i take the battery off to drop weight, it gets a little bit easier. but with the battery on, its pretty heavy without assist. can be done but ill get quite a workout.

Stuff you find on the road.

I’ve found a lot of cash over the years, best find was a 100 dollar bill on a morning jog!

Consider helping a University student by taking a quick survey about E-bikes!

I tried to stay committed to it, but it was pretty long so bailed. Overall, Pedego is a fine brand and great warranty. You could do a whole lot worse than them that's for sure. I looked at them initially, but their prices at the time were quite a bit higher (probably paying for that warranty some!)

Is there a bike lock that is clearly better

I locked up today at the grocery store and the bike rack was by the smokers spot. I told one of the smokers thanks for watching my bike and they laughed and said anytime. Always helps to have more eyes on the bike!

Great sale going on now at Evelo

cool thanks! i will definitely add that to my watch list. i would like to get a little more exercise than im getting currently and thnk the torque sensing mid-drive would allow that compared to my current hub cadence sensor. darn thing just keeps going though. battery is showing a little decline...

Great sale going on now at Evelo

Cool thanks for the reply, it’s definitely piqued my interest and may try and find one around here for a test ride! Amazing what you can get for 2 to 3k now, two years ago that was a pretty entry level bike price!
