    Happy wife, Happy Life!

I have no experience with IGH bikes, but think that anyone who rides a bike with wireless derailleurs would fall in love with them. Every shift is so quick and exact that I’m amazed every time. I can understand the concern about starting in a high gear, but it’s easy to get used to stopping in a...

    Happy wife, Happy Life!

I’ll give you credit for not giving up easily on IGH, but I’m not at all surprised that anyone might be dissatisfied with the entire concept. An automatic is just fine in a car, but makes no sense (to me) on a bike. I mean, who knows better than me exactly how hard I want to work at any given...

    I crashed today

You guys are scaring me. My biggest fear is crashing, because it doesn’t go well with blood thinners. Yet, I continue to do stupid stuff, because what fun would life be otherwise, so it’s probably inevitable that my time will come. I do keep my head on a swivel and my hands on the brakes though. 😉

    New bike from WW

I disagree. They’re smooth down the center, and will roll almost forever if I stop pedaling. On the other hand, if I lean too far into a turn, I can sense that the bike is about to slide out. I suppose I could have tried different tires to overcome that, but I just generally didn’t care for...

    New bike from WW

Considering the designed purpose and the full suspension, 50 lbs. isn’t too bad, but it’s still a heavy bike. I have a Trek Allant+ that weighs about the same, and it’s been sitting in my garage for over a year, aside from loaning it out a couple of times. I got tired of it and went with a much...

Does the ADA supersede local restrictions on Ebikes?

I agree. When I ride a multi-use path, if there are no people and I have a clear line of sight, I move at a fast speed. Otherwise, I slow down significantly and pass at a very low speed. I have no interest in scaring anyone or possibly harming them or myself, but 5mph at all times is...

    Happy wife, Happy Life!

No encouragement needed here. I enjoy pushing myself to do better, and often don’t pay much attention to the surroundings until I take a break. My wife, on the other hand, is more into casual riding, and doesn’t care as much about the exercise aspect. However, I have to admit that is a...

    Happy wife, Happy Life!

I like a high cadence, while my wife likes her throttle. I can imagine her just letting the pedals spin while I work my tail off.

Terrible paint used on $8,000 Specialized bike and no customer support

To add to this….. I was considering having my carbon Creo repainted because I don’t really like the clear-coated carbon fiber on the top bar. I was told by a Specialized rep that it must be painted by an approved shop, or the frame warranty will be voided. The closest approved shop is 125 miles...

Online Stores To Pretend Having A Product In Stock

I had that happen recently, when shopping for a hot tub saltwater chlorine generator. It was annoying, but I did notice they corrected their website to show it as out of stock. I actually ended up buying it from them in the end, as they later had a sale on it. 😊 Another bothersome practice is...

    Creo Tire Pump

Well, that was fast! I still owed you a picture.

    Creo Tire Pump

I can’t get a picture now, as I’m not home. I installed it so the bottle holder is in its normal (centered) position, and the pump is shifted to the right. It’s not in my way at all. I suppose you could try moving the bottle cage to the right, but I think that would be in the way. I didn’t try...

    Creo Tire Pump

I bought this for my Creo, and it works perfectly. It holds both the bottle cage and the pump holder. https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/collections/b-rad-system/products/b-rad-bottle-shift

Rad-mini 4 from gears to single speed?

Haha! I was going to say the same, but I thought surely he’s thought of that and dismissed the idea. Maybe not though(?).

    Which bike rack?

I have a Thule EZ Fold, and had no problems while using it. However, the distance between bikes (I think it was 9” on-center between tires) became a problem when I bought a new bike, as it didn’t play nice with my wife’s bike. I then bought the Kuat Piston Pro, as it has more distance between...

Mate.bike + serious accident on first ride and the weirdest reaction from the company

Obviously, I’m pretty much a bike rookie, especially when it comes to maintenance and repair. Maybe the mechanic was too. Or maybe my memory sucks, and he was trying to make theft of wheels more difficult(?). 🤷‍♂️ Anyway, thanks for the lesson.

Mate.bike + serious accident on first ride and the weirdest reaction from the company

Interestingly, the first time I took my Trek in for servicing, the service tech removed the quick release levers and replaced them with nuts, so they could be properly torqued. He didn’t even bother to ask, but that was fine because I dislike them myself.

Sale on IGH & SL bikes (US)

Yeah, I’m 5’8”, and a medium Creo is just fine. If you’re looking for a good price, I’d suggest being patient and shopping online with their dealers. I found an S-works version in California, in April of last year, and saved $3500 before shipping and assembly. I think shipping was around...

    Ganglion cyst on wrist

I don’t know any home remedies, but I had one surgically removed from my wrist about 45 years ago. Ever since, I’ve had a scar that looks like I tried to commit suicide. 😂

How I was treated by Rize Bikes

Uh, they offered a replacement bike. What more should they do?
