    Robot Mowers

I haven't had a lawn since I moved to the mountains 25 years ago. Once or twice a year we pay someone to clear the pine needles and the very sparse weeds around the house. It costs about $300. Dealing with the snow is another matter though.

My dream bike got stolen. Lessons, next?

It would have to be called clunker in the US. Maybe they just don't want to deal with the confusion.

Lol! I don't even stretch before I go for a run. I have never been that flexible.

currie electro drive s hub motor (thru axle)

The Grin All-Axle hub motor should work. You can buy it built into the wheel size of your choice and the sell kits with the controller, display, and other parts you need. If you want that specific motor, you may need to check eBay or Craigslist for a donor bike.

Here's $185 tool. I wonder how many they actually sell at that price? I guess it is a tax write off for a shop. Details Two years in the making, this chain tool is built to stand the test of time. The threaded body and lead screw are made from cro-moly and receive a low friction powder vapor...

If you mean new brake pads, sure. Replacing the brakes would only make sense if you are unhappy with the performance of you current brakes for some reason.

    Avinox Day 9th April

It's like buying a refrigerator with a built in computer and screen on the door that will be outdated in a few years. I would rather keep the computer a separate component that I can replace easily.

Horn, Bell or Voice, how to warn others of your presence and intentions

When I am out walking, I wear the Shokz open ear earbuds. I hear the bikes and and runners coming, but I don't turn around and wave every time I hear them. It is every few minutes when the trail is busy on the weekends. Sometimes I shuffle a little to the right to let them know I heard them. I...

That was only a few miles from my work apartment in San Jose. It's better to let the professionals put out a battery fire like that. It says he probably died from the smoke while he was trying to put it out.

Mid drive motor opinion clearance bike

It doesn't look like it. I read on another site where an owner of this motor replaced the embedded controller with a Grin Baserunner controller. He said it worked, but the motor was noisier. The Baserunner controller would support a throttle, but you would have to replace both the controller...

    Annoying phone calls!

At work a couple of years ago, a vendor working on our phone system got a call from his wife that his daughter was in jail and they needed bail to bail her out. His wife was panicking and he stepped out of the building. He came back about 15 minutes later and they had managed to call their...

Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

Fog lines are discussed all the time in the SoCal mountains. Sometimes that's all you can see to get you home in the fog, hence the name. I would rather drive in a blizzard than a thick fog at night up here.
