Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

All riders have power meters now. The telemetry goes back to the DS cars. They are watching their output throughout the race. This is much more important for the domestiques than the potential leader. Power meters and telemetry have introduced another form of negative racing - putting a rider on...

The DS is taking the 10,000m view. Before the season starts, during training sessions, they form a plan for the season. Who will focus on winning which races. Then it comes down to who is on form, and who is available. Every team has lost someone important, and the season just started. This is...

Lady cyclist killed in Davis involving juvenile on ebike...on the bike path.

When I say "throw them in the slammer", I mean lock them up until Mom and Dad come pick them up. That's what happened in my day. Maybe that's too harsh for today, I don't know.

    Revamping a bike trailer?

I took a look at your trailer setup, and I think I understand what you are trying to do. I would ask your friends about the brakes they used when they converted to two wheels. I would only use one rear brake for two wheels if the trailer had a spinning axle that connected both wheels. If the...

It was a fantastic race last year. This year's start list notables as of today: Remco, with Lipowitz, Hindley, and D. Martinez Almeida, with Vine, McNulty, and Soler Jonas, with Kuss, Amarail, and Kelderman Meana, with Zana and Dianese Gall with Ricitello Only, with Godon and Jungels L. Martinez...

I hear ya. It would be so much better just to bust these stupid kids, throw them in the slammer, and have them call Mom and Dad.

Odd mapping omission in Specialized app [SOLVED]

The Wahoo had clear sky for the entire ride, but your phone may not have. There are multiple GPS satellites in orbit, but a combination of terrain and your body may have caused a dropout that SA cannot handle.

2026 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

With rain and more cold in the forecast, I decided to take a late afternoon ride on the Pinarello. This would be the shakedown ride for the new brakes, stem, saddle, and the Praxis carbon 165mm crankarms. Everything worked very well, except my rear brake started dragging on the way back. Easy...

    Solved chain dropping problem (Creo)

Yes, very much. They are super light, and ride as such. I am using Tupolito CX Gravel. They don't lose air quickly like some others.

I don't know about that. Pidcock looked great, coming after a win this week. It's a long race. Everyone was tired. I had my "money" on Ganna, but he wasn't where he needed to be when it counted. If WVA had caught those two with 300m to go, that would have been a race for the ages.

I'd like to hear from Pidcock, if he has any regrets. My take was he should have led the sprint, as Tadej would have a hard time coming around him. But maybe he knew that he could not hold it to the line, so his best option was to let Tadej lead it out and try and come around him. He was gaining...
