It's easy to add a whole set!

    I finally made it,

I haven't tried it below freezing, but it's surprisingly good in the 30s. It's windproof, and the elastic seals against drafts. Heat isn't conducted directly from my head because, as the photo shows, the stuff is stiff and springy enough that there's little contact. For more coverage, I could...

    I finally made it,

Clamped to my handlebars. You can never have too many horns, but there wasn't room for the bag.

    I finally made it,

I quit wearing it until I can get a sign saying, "I'm not Kristi Noem." ICE claimed I was impersonating her and said if it happened again, I'd find myself on a plane for South Carolina. I don't even speak the language.

    I finally made it,

....as would be a tinfoil hat under a bike helmet. A good bicycle lawyer will advise @PedalUma to plead nolo contendere because ignorance of fashion is no excuse. Then maybe he'll get off with 6 months of rehab and 6 months of electronic monitoring. Always check with your fashion expert before...

    True Love in Color

As I rode, I could see runout on my front tire. I braced my finger against the fork so the end of my nail lightly dragged the rim. A spin persuaded me that the rim was within 1mm. I held a felt-tip pin against the fender to make a line along the center of the tire. I measured the runout at 3mm...

    I finally made it,

I wish I'd been wearing my special hat on the morning of February 17. The parking space in front of the town hall door is mine. I find I can collect a larger fine if I can take a violator by surprise, so I haven't told even Donald Trump that it's my space. That morning I recognized the car I'd...

    True Love in Color

Doesn’t your wheel have a rim strip to cover nipple holes and protect the tube? If you didn’t remove the tire, tube, and nipple, bending the spoke would have been necessary even if it were the right length. (Actually, I didn't remove the rim strip when I replaced spokes. I just cut holes over...

    True Love in Color

I had to bend my first replacement spokes because they were 5mm too long, I discovered. The ends extended about 5mm beyond the nipples, and I could see that wouldn't be a problem.

    I finally made it,

I use stealth technology. I hang my tinfoil hat on my speedometer so police radar can't see how fast I'm going. ;)

    My Radwagon 5 arrived

I guess Fedex won't handle cartons of ice-cream or eggs. Walmart will ship some foods, but in general, groceries need delivery. A delivery driver is not an employee. She looks at the orders ready for delivery and will probably choose more than one of they are generally along the same route. Her...

    My Radwagon 5 arrived

According to Apple Maps, Walmart is 9.9 miles away including 600 feet of climbing. I pay the annual fee, which I guess comes down to about $10 per trip. On top of that, I go with Walmart's recommended tip, which is about 10%. I guess the tip is what drivers are willing to work for. If I tipped...

    My Radwagon 5 arrived

A couple of years ago, using bins and saddlebags, my Abound could hold almost as much as a standard grocery cart filled almost to the brim. I found I didn't need so much volume. The saddlebags positioned weight low but were a hassle to load and unload, and they were in the way of maintenance and...

    rear axle protective caps

On my way Radmission, the end of the axle is 11mm out from the flange of the nut. The one I found allows 24mm. I imagined it was a lug nut cap that came off from hitting something or vibration. Maybe it wasn't for a wheel. At Amazon I had better luck searching for "18mm nut cap." My Abound came...

    rear axle protective caps

I found a rubber lug-nut cap on the street. At 18mm, it fits both my bikes. Amazon has 18mm caps for certain VWs. They're $5 for a box of 20. The one I found sticks out 27mm, while the VW ones stick out only 20mm, which should be plenty for a bike.

Need Recommendation For A Lift To Work On Our Two Heavy Ebikes

Years ago I saw video of a mechanic in a large shop replacing the BB in an 80-pound bike with each end suspended from the ceiling. Swinging wasn't a problem, and the bike couldn't tip over.. I've found that in some cases, swinging is annoying, so I use 2 eyebolts, each rated at 600 pounds, to...

I don't ride anywhere without this tool. This morning I stopped to use it only 300 yards from my driveway. As usual, there was no emergency. I did it to flirt. A beautiful automobilist did likewise. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZT49CBG To paraphrase a line about Robert Mitchum in "Thunder...

I haven't had that problem, but the chain on my Radmission kept smudging my right pants cuff. I used a heat gun to bend a piece of polyethylene garden edging into a guard to cover 11cm of chain. I installed a faucet with a pull-down sprayer on the bathroom sink so I could rinse soap off my face...

I haven't yet needed this spreader for brake pads, but it was just the tool to pop the cover off my Radmission motor to dispel my misconception that it was direct drive.
