sorta off topic, first time doing drop bar tape on my specialized bikes!

Looks good! It's not easy thing to get right. Videos are helpful.

    Vado SL 5.1 GQ, a 27.5/650b “Gravel-Queen”

I have a Cannondale Synapse I switched to flat bar. No problem - great bike either way. Thinking about this though, I'd love my VadoSL to have carbon frame. I could just buy a Creo SL and switch over the bars and stem to correct geometry a bit. Could go S-Works and have a $15k flat bar beast...

Does anyone know what this little plug is?

I've never had a kickstand on any of my bikes until I got my SL4. I consider a major advantage of an eBike in general is that a bit of extra 'bulk' is covered by the assistance of the battery. And I've had more damage to paint on my bikes due to not having a kickstand.

    Ok, I get it now...

Can you upload pics of the non-sweating grips? I live in hot area of US and if this is true you've really hit on something.

    Time for a kickstand.

You have to solve the sweat problem with gloves. Because the stock grip isn't the problem. You could buy and install $100 grips made of graphene infused leather and you'll have the same result when you sweat - slippery as hell. :)

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

My VadoSL4 never fails to impress. Decided to take it MTB'ing and except for some roots - really not a bad ride. These paths pretty easy but nothing like riding to the trails and then riding the trails on the same machine. Just perfect. Loving my SL4 more everyday. It'll be a year old next...

Good for you getting it the way you like it. Looks really good too with the supplemented gear.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I'd like to see Specy produce a completely carbon fiber frame VadoSL. Keep the future shock and add a rear suspension like the Moots YBB. Also - add a small compartment in the frame for Apple Airtag. Would also like to have the ability to control the front/rear lights so I can have them...

Agree Roch - there's a different feel to a lighter bike than the SL. I take out my regular bikes from time-to-time and still get plenty of fun with them. I would say - I like the 'beefy' feel of the SL too though - in it's own way. Yeah, heavier and not quite as reactive but I'm less nervous...

Abus Granit Xplus 540 U-lock experiences?

I actually think wildly obvious is a good thing - in a way. But I feel you. btw - held on by 'special' screw type that requires uncommon bit to remove/install

Abus Granit Xplus 540 U-lock experiences?

Besides a lock, I've also purchased a small container that fits under a water bottle holder and contains an Apple Airtag. I'll get my bike back eventually. :)

Grip your Ergon's. Now move your hand's out a little. That's right - you can't.

    Speed Sensor

That's too bad in a way. You're missing one of the big advantages of an eBike which is weight doesn't matter nearly as much and you can choose the best components based on what you want and need as opposed to how many grams you're adding.

I like 38's. A good compromise. Worst case is pure sand and I admit it's tricky. But the 38's are awesome for road and handle gravel with aplomb. The Pathfinder Sports that come with the SL are great. They have a bead that runs pavement beautifully but have a good, course side tread which...
