On my SL the magnet is flush to the assembly. On new it sticks out a bit. Not sure if that matters but being a proximity sensor - might.

To me - unless it's an upgrade that affects the longevity of the bike or battery or possibly increases performance, I won't update and haven't. I have a '21 SL4 too and it's perfect as is. :)

So your through axle has a handle? Is that what that is? You don't have to use a wrench and I suppose proper torque isn't as important as I thought.

Looks good and cables aren't blocking the light - good upgrade.

That's the one upgrade I don't understand on the SL - the brakes. OK - maybe a matter of preference with the length of the triggers but plenty of grip area and the levers can't be pulled back far enough to the hand anyway. I would assume the XTR brakes are lighter so that would be an advantage...

Where is the torque sensor on the SL?

That's the great thing about my SL4. I can get whatever workout I want. And I can always get home when I'm spent no matter how far from home.

I use the Specy defaults and my lowest power assist has only ever been ECO and the sound is just a purr - no issues.

You hit the nail on the head Camasonian - the SL is 'bike-like and fun to ride'! That's a perfect description of the Vado SL and the reason you should get two! :)

Was not aware that a RE battery could be updated - thanks Stefan - something else to think about when I finally take in my SL for latest firmware.
