Trump cancels trail, bike-lane grants deemed hostile to cars.

in the current model that’s what high income places do - e.g. cities, counties, and the state of california when it comes to seismic resilience. but then the federal tax dollars from those high income states gets spent on “local” improvements in low tax income states, all the while the residents...

Riding with music: Any attempt to sync cadence with beat or vice versa?

there are tons of 180s! I’d think that given that each foot is either up or down at 180, that would work really well. it’s a cool feeling when you’re in sync with the music. some 180s (or close to it) that I’d probably ride to free falling - tom petty mary jane’s last dance - tom petty...

    single-speed ?

honestly, it's barely a bike. a very useful transportation device, to be sure, and a great value but the purpose of the pedals is mostly to turn the motor on. at 70 gear inches, 65lb, loaded with cargo the average rider isn't doing much of the work to get this thing going. the gearing is...

Giant targeted. Not a good situation...

why would he bother reading it? the current administration and their stooges already told him what to think.

Trump cancels trail, bike-lane grants deemed hostile to cars.

the per capita numbers for some states are shocking. i do wonder how much of this is just the nature of the income tax as it relates to low income and high income states, and how much is actually pork, biased policy, etc. prolly impossible to figure out.

Giant targeted. Not a good situation...

even a broken clock is wrong twice a day (unless it’s a 24 hour clock, then once) ((unless its still moving just slightly slow in which case it might only be right every few weeks, which is more likely our current situation)

    Creo 2 Dork Disc Removal

i've taken plenty of wheels off and cassettes off and i've never done so to remove a dork disk. two snips with cutting shears or strong scissors and into the bin.

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

that'll be sweet!! in the photo it doesn't look like it gets quite dark enough towards the pivot, but the gloss looks great and i'd totally ride it. impressive for home sprayed.

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

dude, painting is SUCH a (*%$#*_(%@#%*@$. it looks easy and never is, no matter how much you prep and get set up, it just never works out quite the way it would for a pro. i used some metallic automotive paint, did lots of sanding and many thin coats of primer, then more sanding, and tons of...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

they have not yet - although they do (again) say coming soon. i never liked their seat-tube battery design, otherwise they seem like nice bikes!

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

i think someday the b-school case study of vanmoof will be pretty much directly laid at the feet of whoever designed this thing and the logic by which it operates, or the production line/process that made it : it's purpose is to rotate the gear selection ring of a totally standard sturmey...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

i'll just reiterate. i see a dozen or more vanmoofs every day, and have ridden mine nearly every day for five years or so, and i've never met or heard of anyone whose bike just "stopped working" because of some issue with the bankruptcy, van moof's servers, the app, anything. it's just a bike...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

no, that's not what happened. the bike does not need the app or the website, at least mine never did. i've had it for close to 5 years and never use the website (not sure what it does other than initial registration?) and only use the app when i use the kicklock because i forgot the button...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

oh, it’s nothing special - a much maligned vanmoof. it spent most of its life with my younger daughter on the back, many great miles :) she outgrew it and now propels herself. the two tone metallic grey areas are a spray paint job to cover the damage when some years ago a thief with an...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

one thing i've learned from bikes and e-bikes - no matter how well you plan, ALMOST ALWAYS some small thing goes wrong in modifying, upgrading, maintaining, adjusting a bike. sometimes it's a deal breaker, sometimes just an annoyance, sometimes the lack of a tool makes a 20 second job take 20...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

i think it’s a huge deal! what a pain in the ass to ship a bike multiple times to fix something under warranty, not to mention keeping a huge box around. i don’t have space for that nonsense. i don’t know about other countries but it’s expensive to ship a bike here, and it can’t possibly be...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

true. when i bought my aethos i wanted the 11-34 instead of the 11-30, so it came with that, whether the LBS switched it or specialized did i don't know - you can't order it that way from the website. i'm surprised more DTC bike brands haven't embraced simple changes like that especially when...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

to be fair, things have changed a LOT. you can go to a bike shop and get a tarmac or aethos with a 50-34 up front and 11-34 in the back in ultegra, dura-ace, some equivalent sram version i'm sure. 1:1 on a super light road bike will get you up a lot of hills, and of course it's pretty rare for a...

    Creo 2 Flat Bar Conversion

@Jeremy McCreary the fact that the creo2 isn't really a typical road bike drop bar geometry certainly matters! the top tube and wheelbase of a creo 2 is basically the same as a diverge, which is a drop bar gravel bike. a tarmac of the same size, on the other hand, is almost three inches shorter...

    Creo 2 Flat Bar Conversion

I’d recommend you check out the Skitch. similar or lower price than you’ll end up spending, correct geometry for flat bar, same weight, really clean lines.
