Bafang Ultra motor for the ultimate riding experience

I have the previous model Himiway Cobra Pro with the same Bafang M620. Excellent powerplant and soooo much smoother compared to my Radrover 750w Bafang geared rear hub. I can ride exactly the same with the M620 on PAS 1 up to 20 mph because of 2X the tq compared to having to use PAS 2-4 with...

    High Visibility & Reflective Socks

Work commuting before dawn always had me concerned with being hi-vis from all directions. I don't think drivers from a side streets can see my socks because of parked cars or shrub/hedges sometimes. I like having side illumination on my ebike, hi-vis jacket, and front/rear helmet lights during...

    Tire pressure discussion.

I always adjust tire PSI factoring in riding conditions, best combo of ebike braking/handling, weight of the ebike, type of tires, and weight of the rider. My 75lbs rear hub Radrover fat tire rode best at 20F:22R with 4" tires and my full suspension mid-drive Himiway Cobra Pro rides best at...

Wired Cruiser - monster truck of ebikes.

I added a full suspension fat tire ebike (Himiway Cobra Pro). I was really surprised how smooth and stable the full suspension felt in all riding situations and speeds compared to my Radrover. Way more time staying seated over all types of terrain and bumps compared to my hard-tail/tail heavy...

    I like these riding glasses...

I started out with wrap around eye protection; but, they didn't work in all situations. I had issues with hitting a swarm of gnats and getting bugs in my eyes, getting dust/dirt in my eyes on windy days or trail riding, or my eyes start to water in colder temps. I figured the non-helmet...

Hello from Silver City Cycles in New Mexico

Welcome! I'm up the road from you in ABQ. I love the NM weather because we can ride almost all year (I don't ride the +/-14 days a year of snow, ice, or heavy rain).

    Clothing complaint

6'3" (75 inches/190.5 cm), 300lbs, size 14 shoes, and 6'11" (83 inches/211 cm) wing span. I like to shop at Aero Tech Design for big/tall cycling gear: https://www.aerotechdesigns.com/

My bike with “130nm” can’t keep up with a trike with 90nm??

Riding a cadence sensor rear hub is "fall off a log" easy; especially, with a throttle. It was a very good choice for the wife and I getting back into (e)biking after a +30 year break. A rear hub to me is similar to those moving sidewalks in airports you have the option to walk or stand...

My bike with “130nm” can’t keep up with a trike with 90nm??

For me, it comes down to the weight of the ebike+rider first and tq+gearing second for speed/hill climbing ability. We have identical 2016 Radrover 4" fat tire ebikes and the spouse (130lbs) leaves me behind (290lbs) on hill climbs. I just added a mid drive 10 speed with 1000w/160nm and she...

City of Long Beach Raises eBike Fines to $500.00

Sad; but, true. You might really confuse the police if you tell them you are in the process of shop lifting the ebike if pulled over.

City of Long Beach Raises eBike Fines to $500.00

Doesn't sound fair to ride a pedal bike 15-20 mph with zero fines and you get a $50-$500 riding an ebike 5-12 mph? Doing a speed limits for all (e)bikes with fines depending on speed over the limit and number of offensives seems fair just like speeding fines on roadways.

What is a good Small hybrid car for towing e-bike?

I would factor in a hybrid/EV that has an OEM or aftermarket 2" hitch capability. I would also double check the tongue weight of the hybrid/EV to make sure the +50lbs ebike+rack isn't exceeding that (usually 10% of max tow weight). You will have a lot more selection of platform racks in the 2"...

    Bike for a Big Guy

I'm old school and I don't run out of gas in my vehicles and don't run out of power when riding my ebikes.

    Bike for a Big Guy

I have a pump for the center suspension and forks I keep in the rack bag. I set the center shock to around 275 psi and around 100 psi for the front forks. I also have the suspension seatpost and Cloud-9 cruise seat with springs along with the 4.8" fat tires set to around 30 psi. Very comfy...

    Bike for a Big Guy

I'm 6'3", size 14 shoe, +325lbs (+350lbs with rack bag , commuter backpack, gear/tools, water/lunch, etc...), and very long arm (6'10" wing span). I just upgraded my 2016 Radrover 4" fat tire 750w rear hub to a 4.8" Himiway Cobra Pro 1000w mid-drive full suspension 20 Ah battery 10 speed tq...

Fat tire e-bike for hard packed beach sand, salt, and frequent rain

The salt water would be my main concern; unless, you are planning to hit a mix of fresh water spots also. I have two fat tire ebikes (4" Radrover 750w cadence sensor rear hub & 4.8" Himiway Cobra Pro 1000w tq sensor mid-drive). Rear hub with throttle is the way to go for casual riding and you...

Do you wear cologne when you ride?

Just normal underarm deo and chap stick only before a ride. I don't use sun block because I wear UV clothing, gloves, helmet, eyewear, and bike shorts or spandex (to knees when warm/hot, full length in cold weather). I never really had a good sniffer for faint smells and it isn't nearly as...

2nd ride on Himiway A7 Pro - what went into thinking and other bikes I considered

The specs of the A7 Pro sound like it was worth the purchase. I would have waited if I knew the A7 was just around the corner. Enjoying my Cobra Pro also!

    What's an "SUV" ebike?

I upgraded from a 2016 Radrover to a full suspension Himiway Cobra Pro for improved off road capabilities. The 400lbs max weight, 20Ah battery, hydraulic brakes, and 1000w/160Nm M620 mid-drive were a big bonus over my Radrover (275lbs max weight, 11.4Ah, cable brakes, 750w/80Nm rear hub).
