Winter is coming: how do I protect the battery?

These do seem to be the neatest solution. I can install one of these against the wall that I park the bike. The heater would be very close to the bike frame and hopefully put out just enough heat to take the chill off the immediate area.

Winter is coming: how do I protect the battery?

I ride my bike at least once a day, sometimes two or three as it is my primary mode of transport - this will continue over winter. Sub zero temperatures are quite a regular thing in the UK from Dec - March.

Winter is coming: how do I protect the battery?

Recently got my first e-bike, a Specialized Vado SL and I am very happy with it, currently stored in a converted brick coal shed that is the perfect size to store 2 bikes. I understand it is important to keep the battery above zero degrees in winter and I am planning ahead how to achieve this...

Aftermarket rack and fenders for Turbo Vado SL

I just put a SKS X-Blade rear mudguard on mine. I think it suits the bike quite well. Regarding a rack, I would have thought anyone needing to use one regularly has probably bought the wrong bike.

Were You Moving Away From E-Bikes, What Traditional Bicycle Would You Buy?

Before clicking buy on my Vado SL 5.0 I was sorely tempted by a Specialized Sirrus X 6.0. 20lbs Funky Gloss black stealthy carbon frame 1x12 GX Eagle Get a carbon wheel set down the line and tubeless tyres and that weight would drop into the high teens. Usually in a sale so can be picked up for...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Got the Crankbrothers Stamp 1s fitted today and I am really pleased with them, so much better than the stock pedals. I got the small and they are perfect size for me. - prefer the fact that they are composite so they shouldn't chip so bad and look scruffy after 6 months. Thanks Stefan for the...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Just did a bit more investigating. I don't have the correct tool to look in the TCU but the noise definitely stops when I stop pedalling so I guess it must be the group set area that is at fault. Bike is only 5 weeks old so chain should be good and it only had a tune up 3 weeks ago at the bike...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I have been noticing a very annoying rattle in the last week that reveals itself at around 28-30km/h whilst pedalling. I am terrible at locating noises but it seems to be somewhere around the frame area. If I stop pedalling then it seems to disappear. When I switch off the motor it is still...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

New saddle today. I gave the standard Bridge Sport a few weeks but it really is the wrong shape for my butt. Took a chance on a Power Comp as the stubbier look and shape of it looked as though it might work so I bought online. Fitted this morning and it felt better straight away. Went for a...

Turbo Vado SL 5.0 - questions

Is the Levociraptor an easy install? I had a look at the pear tune and it looks a pain.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Had my appointment yesterday to get the Pathfinder Pro 42s fitted tubeless and they also fettled the bike a bit and sorted the gears for me - bike is transformed. The new tires suit the bike perfectly, I have them at 40psi and that feels perfect. They will naturally lose some pressure in the...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

If the hills are not too savage and your bike is limited to 25km/h then I am afraid you have little chance of keeping up with a fit rider on a road bike. My old bike is a 10kg hydrid and I am faster on that on a regular route than I am on the Vado SL.

Just the standard Pathfinder Sport 38s. I have ordered the 42 Pros though and they will be fitted next week.

    Ariel Dash - 10kg e-bike

How deep are your pockets? https://www.arielmotor.co.uk/ariel-vehicles/dash/ Ariel are the makers of the Ariel Atom the legendary stripped down exposed chassis road/track car and this is their first e-bike - only $11k or so. Interestingly, the first bike the company made was a Penny Farthing...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Noticed today that my assistance turns off at 28kph rather than the expected 25kph. Tried it a few times and I can sit at 27 and still hear the motor and then immediately it tips over to 28 it cuts out. Is this just Specialized factoring in some tolerance?

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Found a new game to play on the bike which will drive me nuts I am sure. The master mind display on the 5.0 has km/h front and centre and difficult to ignore. I have a 700M very flat, smooth and quiet road 30 secs from my house and I cannot help trying to see what number I can push it too. Got...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Well, I have just had my first revelation with the bike. As I mentioned before I do not find it that useful on the flat but one of my regular journeys is to the gym which I did this afternoon and there are 2 quite meaty hills on the way back. Usually, I just get into grind mode and start...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Sadly I have yet to find a good one in my area. I could tell you some horror stories there for sure. There are a few more bike maintenance businesses in the area I have yet to try out so I should be able to find someone good at some point. Plastic dork disk is also a source of a slight rattle...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Just spent an hour this morning with the bike tool. Whoever set this bike up did a poor job and I have fixed quite a few issues already. Some bolts had not even been tightened correctly. handlebar roll was comically too far forward for me, I have adjusted this by quite a large amount and also...
