Well they put a watch on the tyres in the summer so they will probably convince me that they need replacing, if they are only lasting 18 months then I might have to move on from the Pathfinders. If there is rattle in the chain ring hub area then that sounds expensive as well.

Trouble is they recommend a service every 6 months. so they will surely say I will have to book it in as I had the last one done in summer. So that would be me down £300+ down at Christmas which is not ideal :rolleyes:

The rattles are starting to get me down now. There appears to be 2 different types of noises, I think one of them is chain ring area as when the bike is stationary and i wiggle the chain ring back and forth gently this definitely causes a rattle. The other one seems to be front of frame area...

This is kind of what I did Put hooks in the wall and draped a thermal reflective survival blanket around the bike and installed a thermostat controlled 80W tubular heater 6 inches from the floor. It only kicks in when it gets about -1 deg Seemed to work well last winter.
