Stefan.... I assume you mean the padding of your saddle is very firm. I'm beginning to think that the fit/adjustment of the saddle may have as much or more to do with comfort than the firmness of the saddle.

Update: I went to the LBS where I purchased my Vado SL 5.0 to look at alternate saddles. The guy there said that before spending money on a new saddle, I should try moving my current saddle back a few millimeters and tipping it down in front by 1 degree. It helped, but I think I need to move...

Thank you for all of the replies! I have to try and find a dealer for SQLabs and Selle saddles. Then again, a different Specialized saddle on which I can mount the taillight might be the solution.

Actually, I'm most interested to know if the Vado SL 5.0 taillight can be mounted on other seats--Specialized or non-Specialized. I wear padded pants which help.

"Enjoy" is the key word! Whether it's a Como or Vado, a 3, 4 or 5 is far less important than just getting out there and riding. Fun.

I'm 75 and the Vado SL 5.0 I got last year did the same thing for me--got me riding again and made me feel 20 years younger. (At least until I got off the bike and sat for an hour.:))

Hi Joe.... thanks for the seat info. My Vado has a light built into the seat, so I'll have to figure out if I can switch the seat and keep the light. I wouldn't want black either (!), so I was glad mine is silver.

Shortly after I bought my Vado SL 5.0, I messaged Specialized Support and asked the same question. The reply was this: "If you keep your cadence between 80-90 RPMs and shift gears appropriately, you should get noticeably better range on your bike."
