How does a foldable ebike work on the beach?

My limited experience with belt drive is they're bulletproof and clean. Water, sand, pretty much nothing will effect the belts performance or reliability. Now you just download an app to set the tension if you have to pull the rear wheel for a flat. Much easier than the old days for setting belt...

How does a foldable ebike work on the beach?

BUT, those Amazon ebikes are far cheaper and much more powerful than most DTC ebikes! How can anyone resist! I myself would just buy a Lectric XP Lite belt drive, knowing that it has known quality behind it, backed up by good customer support and has some verifiable UL certification. Plus it...

    shock absorbing seat posts

I use the cheap-o Zoom pogo post. Simple and affordable. Seat/post thefts are a problem in my area. I do use a HexLok in my seat post clamp to prevent this problem but I've always liked the cheap Zoom post over pricier options. Only down side is most pogo post are not very adjustable and if you...

Electric Bike Companies That Have Gone Out Of Business

I've owned 2 Runners and Rads folder. Great value and good quality. If they truly fold (Why would anyone try to rescue the brand at this point?) I'll have only fond memories.

    Multi-Terrain Tire Advice?

When we were teenagers a bunch of us (6 dummies) on bmx bikes went to a friends house. While he was out of his room we went looking for girly magazines and found a Bon Jovi 7800 Fahrenheit cassette and clowned him to tears. He finally yelled "I don't care what you guys say, I like Bon Jovi!". We...

    Multi-Terrain Tire Advice?

Not 100% on subject but I have Specialized Carless Whisper tires on my 20" cargo bike and they (Specialized) make great tires. Very durable, nice grip in all conditions and great puncture resistance. Just noticed Specialized tires mentioned above and giving my 2cents.

    Winter Riding Gloves

I've gotten them wet a few times. If it's really cold and they get wet your hands will be warm but soggy, so the gloves are not waterproof at all. That's my main complaint about them. I use cheap-o hunting gloves with the motor scooter. I carry a extra pair under the seat, so if one pair gets...

    Winter Riding Gloves

For gloves, electric heated from Milwaukee. Use batteries. For light, I have a helmet that has light mounts on the top. The lights are crazy bright but are fully adjustable for brightness. Lumos Firefly lights for a WaveCel helmet. I like the glove innovation with the watch and the flashlight...

    Weird Specialized discovery....

I just put my Xpedition in the shop and they found 6 broken spokes on the rear wheel! This was a brand new rear wheel from Lectric with only around 100 miles on it. I had the original wheel rebuilt and had them re-install that one for now. The original Xpedition has single wall rims, but my...

    Weird Specialized discovery....

I do this exact thing with motor scooters now. As I get older (A whopping 54 at current writing) I hate doing certain servicing myself. On scooters I no longer do my own valve checks, brake work and tire changes. I pay a shop now. BUT, in the event that certain services need to be done, I can...

    Weird Specialized discovery....

I've known the owners of Ebike Alley all the way back to when they were a Pedego dealer. Good people who run a honest business. I'll try to support a local business if possible before resorting to mail order.

    Weird Specialized discovery....

I may go to my multi-brand shop this weekend and kick some tires. A few of the bikes others have mentioned are on sale and one also includes a free battery extender! My goals are: Make the wife comfortable on the back. Find a one and done ebike to help clear out the garage. Price technically...

    Weird Specialized discovery....

I don't care if it said Huffy! Hub drives are squirrel proof, has a optional "T" word, no flexi folding stem and 4 piston calipers with thicker rotors. Oh, and those Cool Cave fork mount trash cans. Oh well.... Might look into some of the others mentioned. I have a good Trek dealership locally...

    Weird Specialized discovery....

So my wife and I are ready to move up in the run-about ebike category. It was decided to replace our Xpedition with a Globe Haul LT. But I discovered a weird issue. The nearest Specialized dealer is now 100 miles away! That's to far should it need servicing or warranty help. We set a local...

    single-speed ?

I have a single speed RadRunner. Here's how it works.Stay at PAS 2 and you can actively pedal. Anything higher than PAS 2 and you ghost pedal. I purchased this ebike for 2 reasons. I'm lazy and hate doing maintenance, it's just a simple bike to deal with. Other reason, I don't care to haul butt...

Aventon Pace 500 original model, worth selling?

I've given 2 ebikes away to friends. If you go that route donate the ebike to a thrift store instead. One friend ended up selling the ebike I gave him and then complains because he doesn't have a way to get around. The other friend would always blow my phone up when it got a flat or a chain...

    best fat tire bike

You're over thinking this. Go simple and save some serious money with a closeout Rad Power Rad Expand, for $1000 shipped to your door. Yes, 20" wheels, but a heck of a bargain. Lectric has some good bundle deals as well going on right now. Or wait and hope for a deal around the upcoming...

What is wrong with this forum

I get the "Oops, something went wrong" every now and then. Judging by the very low Spam bot activity I suspect it's (site) is down for servicing. No huge deal to me as when it's up everything works as it should.

    The Universal Ebike!

I was at the bookstore last weekend and 3 kids came riding thru the parking lot on fat tire 20" ebikes. What made it funny was all of them were practicing wheelies! Kinda reminded me of riding freestyle bmx as a teenager. I'll always have a 20" fat tire ebike in the garage. Everyone that rides...

    Ebike helmet

As someone who fell and hit my head on a ebike: ANY helmet is better than no helmet. I love NutCase helmets myself but they went out of business. If I don't like the helmet I'll not be as inclined to wear it. I now have a $200 Bontrager helmet. It's bland looking but cycles air thru easily and...
