Plastic free lunchboxes for rear panniers?

Maybe you should invest in this solid gold toilet. Much harder to break, unless it's your wallet 😁 It's up for auction at Sotheby's with a starting bid of a mere $10 million. https://www.wtvm.com/video/2025/10/31/solid-gold-toilet-is-up-auction-with-10-million-starting-price/ Just think of...

Plastic free lunchboxes for rear panniers?

I'm not sure what you mean by vertical layout but if you Google "metal lunchbox for bike riding", there are quite a few available.

    Tried Running a 72V Motor on a 52V Battery — Here’s What I Learned

I occasionally run a 52V motor with a 48V battery. The performance is a bit sluggish, but not as severe as your experience. Probably because it's just a 4 volt drop compared to the 20 volts you're dealing with.

    Winter Riding Gloves

I use a small LED helmet light to better see handlebar mounted controls & accessories. It would also work well for reading a wrist watch.

I suppose I should say the same thing. I've been riding, but haven't seen anything interesting to post. Season's winding down here now, so I likely won't have much in the near future. I live vicariously through the pics others post though, so keep em' coming!

Should We Eliminate the Time Change?

It's interesting that there are far more complaints about the time change in the spring when we loose an hour than in the fall when we gain one.

Should We Eliminate the Time Change?

It shouldn't have been a problem since it was sill "Pee M".

    Weird Specialized discovery....

Regardless of what brand you choose, If you don't do your own servicing, having a local dealer nearby is very important. One of the issues I have around here is, the local bike shops keep changing the brands they carry. When I bought mine in 2018, there was a dealer here in town. That LBS has...

Should We Eliminate the Time Change?

Eliminating the time change would certainly make it easier to drive around northern Arizona in the summer. Arizona doesn't recognize DST but the Navajo reservation, which occupies a significant portion of northern Arizona , does observe it. The time changes 5 times when you drive from Phoenix...

Touring - Planning a long journey

I transport my e-bike all over the east coast riding mostly rail & canal trails. I gave up camping years ago and now stay in hotels. Some I frequent regularly now have "no E-bikes or batteries in room" signs posted. I always comply with a posted sign but otherwise use a don't ask don't tell...

Touring - Planning a long journey

Are you bikepacking & camping or staying at hotels? Are you riding with a group or shadow riding with a vehicle? Lots of advance planning will be required to eliminate places that are not e-bike friendly. How do you plan on charging batteries? Adding this information will help us give you more...

Fancy seatpost for more saddle angle adjustment?

An older post, but if you're looking to get a greater range of seat angle adjustment, you might try one of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088R7BLB3?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 Not very well reviewed, but I've been using them on my bikes and haven't busted one yet. The trick is...

    Robots are coming fast

Hey! That's what I need! A robot that will ride my bike up and down the hill in front of my house! That way, I can sit on the porch and watch it bust it's a$$ instead of me busting mine!

    Camera damage in handlebar-mounted phones?

I can't say I've ever damaged a cell phone on my bars, since I always carry mine in a pocket, but I have trashed a couple of automotive GPS devices. You are correct about the culprit being the high frequency vibration. When I installed a Redshift ShockStop stem, the problem disappeared...

Who's ebike riding could ALL be done on a regular bike?

I ride all the trails on my e-bike I used to do on my conventional bike and many I didn't dare before. I ride farther and stay out longer than I was previously able. I now burn the same or more calories, albeit over a longer period of time, and enjoy every minute.

    Sound in the Ears

My doctor told me a few drinks could alleviate tinnitus. I thought he was joking until I tried it and it works! Studies have shown alcohol can lessen tinnitus in a small number of individuals. Apparently, I'm one of them. Not practical to walk around drunk all the time though. I wonder if the...

Winter is coming: how do I protect the battery?

My brother covers his bike & battery with an old twin bed size electric blanket. He covers that with another blanket to help hold the heat in. Set on low, it uses about 50 watts and only comes on when the temp drops below 40 degrees. Keeps the dust off as well. I imagine you could do the same...
