A guy saw a couple of videos on how to adjust brakes, so he extended the barrel adjuster on his hydro.

Those Pashley Prosperos have touring/bike packing geo and bosses. They come in flat, backswept, and drop gravel bars. And with or without fenders. The quality is top notch with Shimano GRX in a wide range one-by. I have converted three so far. And I totally get it about already having a bike you...

    no wheels

Lots of bikes were sold new with the Bionx system. Some were nice but the system does not work any longer so they are all less than useless. These now have mid-drives.

@kevinmccune, There are bricked Bionx trikes out there. That system has not been supported for ten years. Most of them do not work. You might be able to get one cheap and then swap out the rear wheel with a Bafang.

@warek437, Click here to download the user's manual to see what is programable. I like the small and lightweight 500 watt motor. For instalation tips see the thread: https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/clean-custom-conversions.58798/...

I made one for someone going from Seattle to Maine, 5,800 Km, with her camping gear on mostly gravel. It is better than any bike online or in stores for its purpose. It is based on a Pashley Prospero gravel/touring bike, handmade of Reynolds 631 in Stafford upon Avon, for a fraction of the price...

    Winter Sucks

I am working on two thrashed 20" wheel kid's bikes, then a 1980's Rockhopper that has a very nice frame, headset and brakes. To ward off boredom I am listening to bomb shelter radio. l know it is trying hard to not try to be cool and that is what makes it cool...

    Winter Sucks

It is now 3 PM I have been restoring and tuning two thrashed and rusted bikes that were left out in the weather for a couple of years, since 7 AM this morning. The paint was oxidized so were all the aluminum parts. I have not gone for a ride or two as usual. As soon as I get on the boiled in wax...

That trike guy is very happy to meet the four eTrike ladies. There were about 30 for the group ride. I had to shorten the original route plan because there was a slow analog rider with a kid on a trailer bike. It ended at a beer garden. The photo is the rail trail. It is a flat and fast way to...

    Winter Sucks

My legs have faded since mid-October but I am back in shorts again today. I did a morning ride and stopped by the river to have a cup of coffee while reading a book, in an Adirondack chair with the sun on my toes. I will lead a guy with a trike in an hour to meet four ladies with eTrikes so they...

    Controller question

Okay, it was a while ago. That could be the fork lock remote. The main thing is that it is not a regular thing. It is an odd extra wire I couldn't hide.

    Controller question

That wire is for the seatpost. See that phone bag with the llama aps? That is where the connectors are tucked. I made a small slice and shoved them in. In other words I cheated to make it appear clean. It is still a BBS02 with all the wires and connectors.

I was assembling a Happy Run at the downtown bike shop where I worked last year. After having Vietnamese lunch from the place across the way I got food poisoning and learned the true underlying meaning of the brand name. Happy Runs! People would order them from Bezos, have us assemble them, and...

New Jersey Would Be Foolish To Require E-Bike Insurance & Registration

A Happy Run has nothing to do with a Vado SL! Everything about the Happy Run is garbage. The fork will fall apart in the first ten days. The little shiny cylinder on top of the rear spring is plati-chrome and does not do anything. You can slice the outgassing tires with your thumb and it is...

It is ironic that yesterday I saw a guy get busted with one. I was in a restaurant, there was a guy outside acting crazy and smoking from a small glass pipe. He kept going over to my bike. The manager called the cops. They got the torch and pipe and put him in the back of the Explorer.

Something that has really worked is that schools in Marin do not allow bikes on campus that have throttles. That, and that eMotos are being impounded when spotted in public. I think the hardware is an issue. Getting a fourteen-year-old kid a $5K motorcycle that has a QR code on it that when...
