Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

Good point on time/experience. I used Propel for parts, not repair...and Zen picked up the bill. That said... Once you have it apart the Rohloff is not complex rocket science and the instructions are pretty straight forward with plenty of video available. After the first half hour I felt more...

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

I concur. My Zen is similar to his with a Rohloff and I may never go back to a derailleur. If Zen won't assist under their 3 year warranty, Rohloff may since this failure is on a fairly new unit. I've dealt with Propel for my Rohloff and they were pretty responsive with locations in NY and CA.

Of all the old tools I have.... This Stanley level is probably the only one that I use occasionally. I have a pair of the 24" and a 12" They're solid steel I_beam and very accurate.... But the 24" weighs over 4 pounds so you need to be very careful not to drop it

Interesting to look at and I have several of these I've kept around for novelty sake... but there are good reasons that they don't make them anymore.

    Camera damage in handlebar-mounted phones?

You know... It really has been working out quite well for me. Thanks for noticing 🙃 Everything is a compromise... but I don't find it necessary to enlist NASA vibration frequency testing to come up with a solution. And if you can calculate the aerodynamic loss of such a case, let alone feel any...

Don't feel guilty... As soon as they realize that it requires work to use them and there is no app... They'll be as useful as an inflatable dartboard 🙃

How many miles a year do you ride?

I concur... I keep loose track of mileage just for maintenance. That said I'm in the same average.

Brake Wear Question -- Is it possible...

What's not mentioned in the article are ceramic pads which imo are the best choice for all but the most demanding braking.

Brake Wear Question -- Is it possible...

In the winter I often flush out the caliper with some water after a gritty ride. You can use a garden hose or even a spray bottle or garden sprayer. If you have a compressor you can blow them clear/dry afterwards as well.

    Brake bleeding without bleeding ports

Glad you got it working... as there's more than one way to skin a cat 👍 I'll have to remember that if I ever run into a similar problem. Very similar to how you bleed a car brake system, except for the caliper elevation 🤣 Just understand that the two of the three lever bleed you did with the...

    Brake bleeding without bleeding ports

Well I don't agree with the syringe at the lever to do a lever bleed. I would try the cup one more time and be patient. The double syringe will probably work but can be a bit more messy as well as requiring you to be very conscious of procedure or you can introduce more air. I guess this is...
