Rad City and Rad Mini ... Harsh ride

For the 2019 model year, at least, Rad recommends 50-60 psi in the Rad City bikes. I cant imagine why a rental company would have put anything over that in those tires. I have ridden my wife's bike at 50 and at 60 and I felt the ride was too stiff for me, at both inflations. I liked 40-45. But...

    Kickstand separation anxiety

If that tube was pressed on, I would think there would me more signs of indentations in the outer portion of the triangular tube. There is none. All of this material is aluminum. The glue proved to be inadequate in very limited driving vibration. I went with an epoxy that remains flexible...

Rad City and Rad Mini ... Harsh ride

I guess I dont understand how a hardtail bike at 80 psi could not be considered a harsh ride and what is basically a hardtail Rad City at 50 psi be even harsher. Metal is metal, isnt it? My wife's previous bike did have a Post Modern absorbing seat stem. Before we transferred it over to her Rad...

    Kickstand separation anxiety

Someone else will have to answer that. I am not familiar with case types. It's a short, double-sided key that looks like a motorcycle key from the 90s to me. That's the last time I owned a motorcycle.

    Kickstand separation anxiety

Here it is. The top part attaches to the frame mount. Below that is the triangular extension tube that the foot surrounds with its hex head bolt that allows for adjusting the height/angle of the kickstand. The foot is attached to the lower portion of the extension tube. Notice that the upper...

    Kickstand separation anxiety

No chit! Whatever glue they used, it wasn't much in terms of quantity or quality. Very thin coat. Translucent white. I think I'm going to drill a hole through both triangular sections (one fits over the other), then go with a combo of JB Weld in the triangular overlap and JB Weld in the hole...

    Kickstand separation anxiety

The triangular tubing of the kickstand that has the rubber "foot" has an Allen headed bolt that allows for adjusting the length of the "foot". But the other end that attaches to the kickstand "hinge" is simply glued in place. After only 350 miles of 98% level pavement, the glue has given way...

    Kickstand separation anxiety

I was headed over to Home Depot to see if they could duplicate the key to my Rad Rover battery lock (they cant). Anyway, as is my habit, I pull the bike into the store to stand it up next to the customer return desk. No lower 2/3 of the kickstand. Damn, it was just there in my garage when I...

Is there any reason why these tires wont fit on my 2019 Rad Rover?

These tires went up 32.00/tire since I first found them on Amazon. Pretty amazing how Amazon prices can go up and down, over the course of a month. I did not buy them when they were in the 40s.

Anyone tap into the battery to add additional rear lights?

I considered this but decided, instead, to use an existing separate battery operated tail light that I already owned. I placed it on the seat stem. I put this one on flashing and run the Rad light as a standard taillight with brake light. Lots of visibility and no worries about weather intrusion...

    Chain slip??

Yeah, neither of mine have that clunk. At 300 and 150 miles, respectively.

Is there any reason why these tires wont fit on my 2019 Rad Rover?

Yeah, it will be tire liners and Slime, all the way down there. But I am seeing more than a few posts/reviews about the large distance between knobbies on the stock Kenda tires on the Rad Rover. I can see the "logic" in 3.5; just wondering how many sharpies you are missing by a quarter inch...

Purchase Rad Wagon with Velofix setup

I will say that, with the weight of these bikes, it would be a good idea to have a second person there; assuming you don't have a bike stand. It's very difficult to lift either bike tire with one hand and adjust with the other. I am fortunate enough to have "inherited" a high-quality bike...

Is there any reason why these tires wont fit on my 2019 Rad Rover?

After doing more research, I'm leaning towards these tires. Great reviews, especially with regards to more puncture resistance than the stock tires. I really dont ride in much soft dirt/sand conditions or very rocky conditions. And it would be nice to have a tire more dedicated to street...

Is there any reason why these tires wont fit on my 2019 Rad Rover?

I am in the process of getting all my replacement part ducks in line, in advance of heading to Mexico. Replacement stuff in Mexico is either non-existent or very expensive. So, I'm going down with two new tubes, two liners and two new tires. Will these work? Will they fit...

Preventing/overcoming flats in the Rad Rover

I'm bumping this thread, hoping for an answer to my last question. As I look on Amazon for new, more puncture-resistant tires, is there a special type of tire I need to look for? Are the stock Rad Rover wheels a particular generic type that requires a specific tire type? I see rolling bead tires...

Purchase Rad Wagon with Velofix setup

This is just a personal observation, and I purchased a Rad Rover and a Rad City Step Thru, not a Rad Wagon. 2019 models. Surprisingly, there is no Velofix available in the Boise, Idaho area. This is the fastest growing metropolitan area, by percentage, above 500K persons in the nation. And it...

RadRover Rear Rack - Top Speed 20mph??

Interesting. Though I dont know why circumference would play into this. You mean overall tire diameter? These are very tall tires, apart from the 26 in wheel size. Maybe I should be at 28?

RadRover Rear Rack - Top Speed 20mph??

And I did. Turns out my setup was for 28 inch tires, instead of 26, from the "factory". If the "brain" is reading revolutions, doesnt that mean I actually have more miles than indicated on my bike and my speedo was reading lower than true? It was also dialed down to 32 kph. I brought it up to 40.
