    52V CCX / RCS - Will generic 48V "Dorado +" battery work?

How are you deriving that 440mm measurement? That's a lot longer than any length I can measure on my 52V 19.2 AHr battery. Edit: looks like that's the frame mount measurement, not the battery length measurement.

    Mid drive vs hub?

Motor will not break from extended high speed use, no idea who came up with that considering that riding at speed gives more airflow for cooling. Most mid-drives integrate the controller into the motor down low, with proper thermal coupling to the enclosure it will cool. Regarding drivetrain...

    52V CCX / RCS - Will generic 48V "Dorado +" battery work?

Once I get my Biktrix Ultra FS I'll try out the 52V CCX/RCS/HF1100 battery on it. If it fits the Biktrix their batteries should fit as well. 48V for sure is supported, the controller + motor will be the same. I'm pretty sure Biktrix/Frey are both using this battery pack, not 100% sure on the...

Workaround for 20mph Max Throttle speed?

Turning off torque sensing will make the bike mostly reliant on the motor, yes.

2021 Class 3 Commuter Ebikes Thread: A Comprehensive Listing

This is fundamentally not how motors work and shows a misunderstanding of how power relates to RPM and torque. At high speeds hub motors are more efficient yes. This is not in question. The reason is the drivetrain loss. Only 93% of the power delivered at the cranks will make it to the wheels...

Juiced bikes - do they use standard battery type / mount?

Juiced bikes use a reention dorado 440mm battery. The 52V 19.2 AHr pack is unique to Juiced but will fit any bike that has enough space in the triangle to clear the pack. So you can get 48V 21AHr packs from alibaba vendors and it will bolt right on.

Who spent a lot on their E-bike? Was it worth it?

Head on collisions - you can stop, getting good brakes is a core part of having something safe. I think this is much rarer, especially if you are mostly in areas where traffic lights are protected lefts. Getting doored/getting t-boned - if you go fast enough, you can take the lane. When I ride...

Who spent a lot on their E-bike? Was it worth it?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solomon_curve Speed differential is a big, big driving factor in probability of getting into an accident in the first place. As a general rule, the greater the speed differential the greater the likelihood of a fatality as well...

Scrambler throttle / controller upgrade kit - broken molex connector

Juiced warranty is pretty tight-fisted in general, they tried to make me pay for a replacement alu rack when the first one didn't fit. The second one didn't either and it took a lot of arm-twisting on my behalf to actually get it. When I finally figured out that my HF1100 had a bent frame out of...

Received new CCX the rear wheel is completely crooked

Sounds correct, as long as the spokes are the right spec. They should be pretty thick Sapim spokes or you will probably break them, have your LBS inspect first to make sure the wheel is built right. "48V" motors realistically can take up to 60V without issue so 52V is a common upgrade for them.

Who spent a lot on their E-bike? Was it worth it?

I am too, but if you have bike trails in your area it's easy to reduce risk by preferentially taking bike trails to get to where you want to go. For me at least my commute is almost entirely along a bike trail or otherwise grade separated from car traffic. I do go slower because of pedestrians...

Found a way to work around the Speed limiter . Anyone know if this can damage my motor or battery?

Motor will deliver more than rated power, the rated power is at high motor RPM with lots of back emf usually. Keep in mind these motors are overbuilt though and the controller will not provide more power than the motor can take, there's usually a temperature sensor in the electric motor to keep...

Who spent a lot on their E-bike? Was it worth it?

I think even if you factor in plentiful parking there is value to commuting to work by ebike instead of a gas car. If you work a normal office job you are going to almost overwhelmingly commute during peak hours, which means a lot of stop and go traffic even if you aren't crawling along the...

Who spent a lot on their E-bike? Was it worth it?

It's researched, you can go to alibaba + em3ev + luna and various other sites. I also have tried bikes in the 1.5k range and stuff in the ~2-3k range, I'll be trying something in the 4k range soon. The prices I'm quoting are retail, of course if you are planning on making a bike en masse you...

Who spent a lot on their E-bike? Was it worth it?

    1. At the core, lithium-ion batteries are expensive per WHr. There is no getting around this. Lower bound is around 50 cents per WHr for an assembled pack, retail pricing. So for 1000 WHr which is what I would consider to be just good enough to actually go places and do things at speeds that are...

If the Juggernaut Ultra 1000 is power limited to 500W, does it still have 160Nm torque?

I currently have a BBS02B folding bike with 1300W peak and up to 34 mph with a fully charged battery, nobody has said anything yet. Important thing is to leave pedestrians a wide berth when passing at speed. The less room you have to pass, the slower you should be going. If it seems likely that...

Received new CCX the rear wheel is completely crooked

I was banned a few months ago due to issues I had with my HF1100 and I complained about it here. I'm interested in knowing how it plays out here, I'd save a draft of your posts locally in a text editor and post to Reddit ((Link Removed - No Longer Exists)) if this thread ends up disappearing...

    Car Power Inverter

I wouldn’t advise running an inverter off of the cigarette lighter. Those things usually have a fuse, sometimes as low as 5A which means 60W before conversion losses. Get an inverter that directly connects to the battery and make sure you keep the car running while you use it. Lead acid...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

If you have an HF1100 be wary of buying the rear rack + fender set listed on the accessories page. The one I got didn't fit and it's made of aluminum so bending it is a good way to get it to crack and lose integrity. Juiced support is currently suggesting that I just buy another set instead of...
