REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

Blueberry posted the wiring info which I followed, it's pretty simple. I didn't want one of the handlebar mounted switches because they limit placement. Just ordered some rocker switches to try those out, cost $3.99 including shipping for 5 of them on Amazon. I wanted latching so I could...

You can make your own switch for ~$10 with a 6ft usb micro extension (make sure it has data wires, not just charging) and switches of your choice. The extension wires are very small gauge so soldering can be a challenge.

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

I agree that a spring hinge seems like the best mounting option for no other reason than that tires/wheels often aren't perfectly round circumferentially so with a static mount the motor pressure on the tire fluctuates which allows slipping. I've used a few different spring hinges and found...

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

$200 Walmart folder I bought many years ago to put in the back of my car and ride a gravel dike path after work. Rode after dark in the winter with coyotes and deer for company, eyes glinting from my headlamp. Was a good ride for limited distances on gravel. I like the bike and wanted to give...

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

Does your spring hinge hold the roller tight enought on the tire to prevent slipping especially in the high setting? I tried my Qiroll on a 20" folder riding a gravel rails to trails. Qiroll did fine but 20" folder wasn't a good bike choice on this sometimes loose and bumpy gravel. Fun few...

Your hinge looks like it might be galvanized/zinc steel which should drill fairly easily with standard drill bits if they're sharp. If it's stainless then cobalt bits might be necessary (Home Depot has a sale on a good looking Milwaukee cobalt drill set this weekend). Use a center punch to...

    Schwalbe Tyre Problem

When I submitted a warranty claim they sent a automatic confirmation email and contacted me back and resolved the claim shortly. Maybe warranty isn't applicable in your case since it is a North America warranty and you purchased from UK "we offer a comprehensive warranty policy on all Schwalbe...

    Schwalbe Tyre Problem

My first thought is that it is a stone bruise causing damage to the internal plies and bulging of the overlying rubber compound. Regarding Schwalbe warranty, I had a 2 year old OEM Schwalbe G-one with a couple thousand miles on it, but with substantial remaining tread, that developed cracks in...

Still trying alternatives to the stock control switch. This time using latching pushbutton switches instead of temporary blade. The mode button can remain latched for the regen function or blipped on then off to switch between low and high assist levels. The other button to actuate boost...

Still searching for the perfect ultra-light ebike kit for road bikes — here’s the idea in my head

Just for the sake of discussion, not really for the OP for whom this all seems to be a thought exercise - besides the Keyde torque sensing 142mm thru axle compatible rear hub motor kit (which is 2 pounds heavier than the Mahle hub and offers 35nm torque vs Mahle 23nm) there is the ultra light...

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

I didn't so much like the qiroll hanging down from the kickstand bracket so I attached it from the topside. Less prone to damage and looks better to me.

Interesting, post up when you get your custom printed adapter - I hope it works out like you want. I had my reasons for the non Qiroll purchase but my experience with it is a reminder for me to not have a credit card close by while browsing on the computer with my morning coffee - lesson learned...

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

The spring hinge is 3" stainless steel that I got off Amazon. I needed cobalt drill bits to make the Qiroll attachment holes and one for a bolt to the kickstand platform, if you don't have cobalt bits it might be better to source a hinge that isn't stainless. I have used a similar 4" hinge on...

Would the Qiroll quick release help with your folding/seat post interference issue? It's not expensive, $24 USD. At one point I installed my Qiroll on the front fork of a 26" bike that had an easy install unlike your Brompton. It seemed to work as well as it does on the rear wheel (caveat, I...

The non-Qiroll friction drive in the image above burned out after 7-8 miles of riding on a hilly route. Up until that point I thought it worked pretty well with significant assist although I was putting in a good amount of effort pedaling. It died suddenly on a 12% incline (per Garmin) in...

It's been quiet here for a while so here's a bit of an update. I did a bit of testing of the non-Qiroll friction drive and hope to do a longer test ride on a 15-20 mile hilly route tomorrow. It is much more powerful than the Qiroll Mute, automatically retracts from the wheel when not in use...

Has anyone tried building a hub motor wheel with your rim? Is it complicated?

You guys crack me up. There's no adaptor that would make a drop out hub motor work with a thru axle frame although there are adaptors for standard thru wheelhubs to work with drop out frames. And as I've posted before there is a torque sensing thru axle compatible aftermarket kit that works...

Has anyone tried building a hub motor wheel with your rim? Is it complicated?

Keyde makes a thru axle compatible rear hub motor that has torque based assist (and reported to have an inclinometer to help on hills?). Appears to be a very clean install because the controller is enclosed in the motor housing and has a wireless control so the only exposed wire is to the...
