REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

I don't remember the particulars but I think the Currie had a freewheel mechanism on the motor drive side so it didn't drag. It's been years since we had it. My wife rode it all over hilly routes and I took it on very steep rides where it performed admirably even though it was heavy due to the...

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

Years ago I got my wife the first ebike that I bought which was a Currie Trailz and had that type drive unit with 24v lead acid batteries (heavy). Wife only rode it for about a year until she got her strength up and went back to a non-assist bike so I sold it (now she's back to needing a...

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

No idea, you'll have to do a review when you get one :). Nice that it doesn't have some unique 33v requirement like the Qiroll Pro, that was the main reason that I didn't buy the used Pro when I had the chance.

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

I don't have battery recommendations. Got a few off of Amazon that were widely panned on this web site but they have been great for me, as old as 5 yrs without any issues. No guarantees about quality of Qiroll battery either though. I'm careful with charging and storage but I'm careful with...

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

Unfortunately a hub motor forces you to choose between your small wheel and large wheel bikes. I've read a lot on this site about hub motors overheating and failing but never experienced that myself with the two hub motors that I have. Again this has been on very hilly rides - my neighborhood...

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

Just my opinions and only based on my Mute Plus version YMMV as the Pro has more power: Given the elevation profile that you posted the Qiroll might not be the best choice. Depending, of course, on how much assist you are looking for. I live in a very hilly area and the Qiroll isn't helpful...

Will 700x47c Pathfinder Pro 2Bliss Ready tyres fit on a Turbo Vado SL 5?

The Trigger pro works well for me, about 25 miles 50:50 mixed asphalt and smooth gravel. Holding pressure steady at 60psi for about a week as is the G-one tubeless with gorilla tape and orange seal. I like it and it was inexpensive

Tubeless or Mr Tuffy and sealant in tube for goatheads?

Finally got around to cleaning out the Flat Out, re-taped the tubeless rim and everything went smoothly and no leaks even though the Billy Bonkers aren't tubeless rated.

Rail trails, Back roads and a Tank

Nice, wife was there a couple weeks ago visiting her sisters (thought of by me as Selma and Patty) and friends in Michigan.

Best ebike conversion kits to a stock Raleigh 3 speed.

Tongsheng TSDZ2 is a reasonably powerful torque sensing mid drive. Probably similar performance as the TREK 50nm that I think I read that you have. Similar to my Yamaha 70nm mid drive anyway. Depends on which power version you get. Not sure about the Sturmey Archer 3 speed but the Nexus 3...

Best ebike conversion kits to a stock Raleigh 3 speed.

I wouldn't be confident with a front hub motor on skinny forks with what looks like forward facing dropouts in this Raleigh 3 speed. It has a three piece bottom bracket which should fit a TSDZ2, I put one on a '70s Sears with similar cranks. Chainguard would have to be removed or mount modified...

Best ebike conversion kits to a stock Raleigh 3 speed.

The couple tools to remove either one or three piece crank assemblies are inexpensive and the procedure is simple and easy for a person with a modicum of mechanical ability. Wear nitrite gloves and have a rag on hand for the small amount of grease that you encounter. There are eccentric bottom...

Best ebike conversion kits to a stock Raleigh 3 speed.

Did you just get a new Trek 50nm mid drive and are you satisfied with performance? If so you might like a mid drive Tongsheng TSDZ2 conversion. I've have two, a 48v 750w version and a 36v 500w and moved them around on several bikes including a shimano nexus 3 speed equipped bike. Smooth...

Tubeless or Mr Tuffy and sealant in tube for goatheads?

Just relaying my experience, yours might be different. On my gravel bike I installed a tubeless 40mm Schwalbe G-one allround performance and a 38mm Specialized Trigger Pro both on 17mm id rims using Gorilla tape for rim tape and Orange Seal sealant. Tires went on easily and sealed perfectly...

Will 700x47c Pathfinder Pro 2Bliss Ready tyres fit on a Turbo Vado SL 5?

It's a 2019 BH gravel bike with Yamaha PW-SE. Nice bike with the exception of walk assist having been disabled by BH. I'll never forgive them for that. Seems to be more road bike equipped including Shimano 105 derailleurs and narrow rims. Trigger pressure range is 45-90psi, Specialized...

Will 700x47c Pathfinder Pro 2Bliss Ready tyres fit on a Turbo Vado SL 5?

I thought the G-one went on easily enough but the Trigger went on even easier. Just minutes and no leaks whatsoever with soapy water test. At 50 psi measures 36.5mm on a 17mm i.d. rim, about 2mm narrower than the 700X40c Schwalbe.

Will 700x47c Pathfinder Pro 2Bliss Ready tyres fit on a Turbo Vado SL 5?

The one tire that I've installed that was actually tubeless ready went pretty easily but I wouldn't have wanted to do it without an air compressor. Trigger pro just delivered, hopefully it will go on just as well.

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

These new posts got me going on my Qiroll again. Installed (again) with a gate spring which works pretty well. Nice day I'll try riding up my road. Triple chainring allows very low gearing, as low as 22-40.

Here's a picture of the 60 grit sanding belt. Has some debris stuck in it but not worn. I've used a small wire brush before to clean out dried debris build up.

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

Why not try the friction sticker that Qiroll provides and see how it works for you, maybe you'll have a different experience and it's easy to change anyway. I didn't come up with the sanding belt idea, I saw that the Gboost friction drive appears to use it, you can check their web site. It...
