Don't charge your bike battery above 80% and don't ride below 20%. Maybe, maybe not.

I don't think you're damaging your batteries as much as you might think. Case in point, my 2014 Pedego 48v 10ah will still hold about 70%. I'm am convinced of one thing, I'd bet it would still hold 90%+ if I had not left it fully charged all winter long, four winters in a row. I also plugged it...

Don't charge your bike battery above 80% and don't ride below 20%. Maybe, maybe not.

It wouldn't make sense if they made chargers that only charged to 80%. The cells would not balance properly.

    Reckless ebikers

I've even seen a few people texting while biking on pathways now.

china trade deal dead ? Permanent tariffs ?

At the end of the day these tariffs simply equal money out of the American consumers/workers pockets, and into the governments pockets.

Has anyone ever heard of new "battery break in" ?

My original battery (5 years old) still works fine and hammers out 25 mph without a problem, but it has lost a substantial amount of capacity. I charged it all they way up every time I came home, even from a 20 min ride, yet never took it down below 20% to 30%. In the winter months I kept it...

Has anyone ever heard of new "battery break in" ?

That's another good point, I haven't charged mine yet because the weather has turned bad again for several days. I didn't want to charge it all the way up and let it sit.

Has anyone ever heard of new "battery break in" ?

I see it is recommended to fully charge the battery for "cell balancing", but I've never heard of a break in period as some suggest.

Cost/benefit analysis of ebiking versus driving a car

The medical bills are much cheaper with ebikes. I ricocheted off a fire hydrant with my motorcycle, and rear ended a car with another motorcycle (ouch, and hospitals). I was stopped at a stop sign on a highway, and a woman slammed into me at over sixty mph while she was busy texting (that hurt...

    Noseless bicycle seat--a love story

It makes sense. One of my legs is slightly shorter due to a motorcycle accident. So i wear thicker sock in that shoe, I also use various shoe inserts like Dr Scholls, and cheap thin generic brands sometimes to help even them out.

    Noseless bicycle seat--a love story

This saddle works quite well for me. I can go on an all day cruise without a problem. I do take breaks and walk my bike as well when I go for the day, which helps too. But over all this saddle has been comfy for the last 4-5000 miles...

    Noseless bicycle seat--a love story

I'm glad you found a comfortable seat ebikemom! It makes all the difference between an enjoyable bike ride, or a punishment. I threw my Pedego seat in the trash years ago, and never looked back.

    Continental Ride Cruiser Tires

Someone sold me one new Continental ride cruiser 28x2.2 for $12, and I mounted it on the rear. I liked it so much I ordered another one for the front, and replaced my Big Ben's. These are a better tire in my opinion, bigger, better handling, and they really soak up the shock from bumps, even the...

    Electric Bike Lights

Both lights have adjustable intensity levels, I would only use the brightest for off road at night.
