the Aventon 2 doesn't look much different from the 3....but its 500$ more...whats up with that?

I was looking at the Aventon bikes a couple years ago but am glad I waited because I would rather have a more powerful e bike along with my regular pedal bike. I want decent range, weight not terrible,1 motor only, GOOD quality-no nameless bikes, and a price around 1500 max. I am not paying 2000...
