Electric Bike Companies That Have Gone Out Of Business

They did build some interesting frames. They cashed in early on the cargo ebike craze. I wouldn't mind a Rad Wagon 1 to fix up. Maybe our tariff madness will raise the price of the crazy cheap ebike imports and make rebuilding a Rad viable, but until then it's not a viable business model. Not...

    shock absorbing seat posts

I've never been impressed by a pogo stick seat post. They are common and cheap. I also use one of those parallelogram Suntour NCX suspension seatpost, and it works fine. You can spend up to $300 for a suspension seatpost, add a quality saddle and you're sitting on over five hundred bucks!

Electric Bike Companies That Have Gone Out Of Business

Rad bikes were the #1 ebike here in the early pandemic, so they were quite successful for awhile. I guess, on the bright side for bottom feeders like me, the price of used Rad bikes will plumet. After a few years an ebike needs a rescue, and with no Rad what will the owners of those bikes do?

Anyone tried a lightweight ebike conversion kit on the Scott Addict?

So I take it that the Keyde is a direct-drive hub motor with a controller inside the hub. It's been done before, though with noted controller failures because the heat of the motor and controller together in the same can (though mid-drives do the same thing). Maybe, due to material advances...

Where to order rear axle assy

Probably not, and yes. Just take good measure of the axle and search for it. Since you have a nice bike look at upscale retailers like Jensen, etc.. If you seek low price, search on Amazon or eBay.

Who's ebike riding could ALL be done on a regular bike?

I have this beautiful road bike. I replaced the freehub for lower gears, the bike fits great. I was riding it last spring, and thought I would be putting the miles down. Naw, hardly touched it all summer and fall. Too many ebikes in the bike shed .

New to E-Bike and this forum

Hey ECeBiker, do you have hills where you ride? In my world I would be terrified going downhill with your rig

How would you rate your seat for comfort?

I could say I feel your pain, but, alas, I can only feel my pain. Coming off a motorcycle at speed would truly be a terrifyingly painful experience. You have my sympathy. I had a competition use 250 Honda Elsinore for a short bit. Sold to me cheap because the owner migrated from southern...

How would you rate your seat for comfort?

I must be doing something wrong, I wrecked my body on bicycles. I've been good so far on motorcycles. Love your seat. Does that sound kinky?

Probably not a big production run, but on the bright side you get to to start the thread on this ebike.

    Which brake first?

On my electric motor cycle the only brake lever/pedal I use is the front brake, but it's got regenerative braking on the rear wheel. On my Huffy Oslo, a 20 inch folder, I learned the hard way to never use the front brake if you had a drink.

    Robots are coming fast

Yeah, automation has been around in some form for centuries. AI is quantum leap in information technology, but is a continuation of what has been happening for 75 years. I remember the dream was to replace manual labor with robots, knowledge workers were believed to be safe from robotization...

Why does EBR hate recumbent bikes?

    Beautiful bike.

Why does EBR hate recumbent bikes?

I would say that the bias against recumbents that you perceive might be due to the market for (e)bikes. What percentage of bikers ride a recumbent?

Help and guidance replacing rum on motor hub

I built four motor wheels so far, all thanks to Grin's (ebikes.ca) tutorial videos, spoke calculator, and spokes. The cost of a rim and spokes (and the time) should best be used on a decent motor. Grin's spokes are reasonably priced, but not shipping, and a custom duty is due. Regardless, lacing...

    Portola vs XP4

I'd go for the Portola as it has a lower step through, a more powerful motor, and is 5 pounds lighter. Range might be limited by how long you want to sit on a bike, and pedaling will make you go farther. Though, if you want to pedal get a bike that feels good for you to pedal. That would entail...

    cleated (clipless) pedals

My opinion is that old people on ebikes shouldn't be locked on their pedals, and, as such, I ride unclipped. YMMV.

    Likebike "Sunny" nebula class starship

That could be an heir to my Huffy Oslo. Great price! The Oslo was a pretty good 20inch folder ebike, but it ate a $150 to get there, on top of the $350 for the bike. Do the brakes on your bike squeal?
