As I said above, there are a whole lot of regulations that control when a rider can be hired, their minimum pay, and the terms and conditions around termination of their contract. Also, if he does get released, they'll need a replacement, and there are regulations around that as well. What is...

I did not see it, but it sounds like the same train of thought as in yesterday's race. As I said before, he either had the green light to do it or he didn't. Judging from the shot of his DS in the car, choking on the radio microphone so his lips could not be read, he did not. In the end, it...

Puncheurs do, climbers and sprinters don't. Organizers and sponsors do, because of the exposure to the crowds. It's why criteriums are the main form of racing in the US.

    Winter Sucks

We ended up with a foot, with an inch or two more due later today. The boss closed the store, so no work. Up next, we have a Nor'easter setting up off of South Carolina that could hit us this weekend.

Vado SL 4.0 Deore drivetrain upgrade suggestions

Yes, you are correct. The mountain 12s cassettes all went to Microspline. So maybe going with a Deore M5100 RD and 11-51 cassette and staying with 11s is best.

You're a dinosaur. Point and shoot cameras can take great pictures in the hands of a skilled photographer or a lucky son of a bitch.

Most 11s HG hubs can handle 12s, you don't need that funky HG L2 freehub. The reason I'm asking is that you wanted to upgrade, and if that's the case, go 12s now. You can get a 10-51 with M8100 or M8200, mechanical or Di2, which can be wired to your main battery.

Vine wins by over a minute after hitting a kangaroo in the butt. Another UAE rider transported, that makes three I believe. I haven't heard anything about Narvaez, which tells me it was his fault. It will come out eventually. O'Connor sneaks into the top ten due to #7 dropping out. I liked...

It's definitely serious down south. Emergency response will be prioritized down there. They have over an inch of ice and it's still accumulating. The only place that icing is expected in MA is here on the Cape. We will see. When we lived in Central MA, we had some blockbuster storms. In one...

    Winter Sucks

The hype on the Cape is real now. A bunch of gas stations are out of gas. We went out for dinner last night, and so did everybody else. Store shelves are thinning out. Our town police department is talking about snow totals and drifts not seen here in years, advising everyone to stay off the...

Not always. I wasn't shooting Canon before EF, but I had EF lenses. All of them worked on the R6 with an adapter. Every one. All of the electronics, including IS, worked fine. It was a nice bridge to the RF lenses. I felt that the best EF-L lenses were on par with the entry level RF lenses. The...

It was only a matter of time before the Grand Tour riders took over. Jay Vine, the only thing about him that would surprise me would be him winning a bunch sprint. His performance in last year's TdF was beyond belief. Day after day after day in the mountains he got to the front and ground the...

I can only talk about my experience as an elite amateur. Calm only came after I crossed the finish line. Friendly chat during staging, when we are all stationary, was just fine. Neutral starts or parade laps can be as dangerous as the race itself, so I stayed focused. Once the officials gave...

I've got no problem with that. Just because some of us haven't watched the race yet shouldn't prevent discussion.

I watched the crash so far. I could not tell if the curb to the right of the group was hard or soft, but it looked like it was either that or a wheel touch that took down Narvaez. Wind or no wind, these flat, straight sections where there's not a lot going on up the road and the field is all...
