Another deal I could not pass up on eBay this time

And unlike me, you actually finish a project before moving on to the next one.

2026 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

15-20 years ago, I went on a business trip to the Netherlands. I stopped in the UK to pick up a colleague. He insisted that they always use a taxi service to get to the distribution warehouse about two hours outside of Amsterdam instead of renting a car. The nearest restaurant to the hotel was...

Anyone prefer a fixed single-speed ebike?

You need to introduce them to ebikes and convert them. Put your preacher collar on. I can't imagine it is a low income neighborhood where you are. They can afford one.

    Show Us a Tool

I think you are right. I am an Android user, but my wife just got an iPhone and I had to buy some Magsafe accessories for her. I liked them enough to get a Magsafe case for my S24+...

    Show Us a Tool

I don't think that is a bike tool. Maybe a phone stand? How easy does it collapse, or does it hold its position when open?

    Lectric Trike2 750 throttle problem

The problem with most of the inexpensive fat tire bikes is that they are really heavy. I personally think that a lighter, more agile bike is easier to manage. Especially if you intend to put them on a trailer hitch bike rack. The Lectric One seems like a good comprise at 48 lbs without the battery.

Anyone prefer a fixed single-speed ebike?

There are a lot of reasons to vary your speed, unless your default speed is very slow. Riding on bike trails with a lot of pedestrians requires a different speed than riding on the street. Navigating a technical trail or working your way through a college campus or work campus with a lot of...

    On/Off Switch

I would get the XT90 pigtails, cut off the XT60 connectors and splice in the pigtails. If you are not comfortable soldering the pigtails, you can buy butt connectors and crimp them...

    On/Off Switch

No. I believe they only make the female in anti-spark. So note that the adapter you found is a gender bender as well as anti-spark. You will need to change the gender of the other connection as well.

    On/Off Switch

There could be arcing inside a switch rated for a lower voltage than you are using it for. Arcing occurs when there is enough of a voltage difference to overcome the impedance of the air separating the contacts. If that is the case, the switch contacts could eventually fuse (weld together) or...

    On/Off Switch

Not all XT90 connectors are anti-spark. Just the ones advertised with that feature. They have a built in resister like @harryS showed. They have green marking on them...

    Modular Tool Boxes

Weight is definitely a concern. But the modular design sort of solves that. I have basic tools at both locations and only tend to carry a few specialty tools back and forth. My main objective is getting more organized. My bike specific tools are in two bags because those bags are fairly small...

2026 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

I ate at one of his restaurants in Las Vegas a few years ago. It was a good steak (small filet), but not $60 good. I think the bill for four of us was north of $300. It would probably be a lot more expensive these days though.

I read that a quarter of Americans skip breakfast altogether. I usually only have a banana. We more than make up the calories at other meals.

    Modular Tool Boxes

I travel back and forth between my job in Northern California and my home in Southern California. I have a lot of tools spread across half a dozen tool bags and some more molded set cases. I also have a 40 year old Craftsman rolling tool chest in my garage. Because my tools are so spread out...

Broken motor gear for acbest 27.5 48vlt 1200watt e bike

It's probably going to be easier just to replace the motor. You can buy a wheel with the motor already laced in.

    On/Off Switch

It's easy enough to make one with your preferred switch also. You can buy XT60 pigtails and solder or crimp on a connector. They also sell pigtails with connectors already crimped on. But I would just change over to a different connector as Chargeride suggested if that is possible...

Anyone prefer a fixed single-speed ebike?

Reminds me of friction shifters. What's old is new again.
