Yikes, full coverage of the Volta only on FloBikes in the US, $30/month!! No way! YouTube highlights will have to do.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

    What, you spend a few hundred bucks on a bike computer and expect to read the screen?? Talk about entitled! ;^}

Looks like a great line-up, and I love Valencia, so the scenery should be nice. Wonder if we'll be allowed to see the scars from the huge storm and flood on 10 Oct 2024.

It's also fun watch Pogi win, so we're covered either way.

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

Looks very familiar. Once lived on Russian Hill, one street over from the famously switchbacked block of Lombard. No shortage of steep streets from there to your place. Back then, my two-wheeler was a Suzuki GS1100. Climbed those hills pretty well without my help. Climbed some 20% grades on...

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

Good, finding a somewhat steady gradient over 150 ft of gain will be a lot easier. The inland topography here is pretty chaotic, and all the hills on the Coast Highway are too short.

getting a regular bike after my battery fails?

Just say no. Lime with black accents is very hard to beat — a classic combo that won't go out of style.

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

All good suggestions! Will see what I can cook up. Some thoughts... 1. You're a tough taskmaster, but pretty sure I could do 3-4 runs like that in one outing at 80-90 rpm. 2. Used the RideWithGPS route planner to scout local climbs I know of that might be suitable. Found none of at least 300...

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

Fair enough. I'll resist the urge to throw up my hands till I have a few FIT files under my belt. But first, I should design some proper test rides to analyze. First thoughts: 1. Definitely maximize time at 60-100 rpm cadence to keep peak mechanical motor power and motor efficiency reasonably...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I also started up in MicroTune for a while. Worked well, as it comes up in 50/50 — good for negotiating traffic on the way out of the neighborhood. And like you, I liked the finer motor control. Then I tried starting in ECO 35/45, with a 55/70 SPORT and 80/100 TURBO. This may be my favorite...

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

Good idea to focus on 100/100 assist. I believe all Spec mid-drives use the same Turbo operating system, but they might tune it differently for different models. Reasonable processing method. Well, that's pretty much the final nail in the coffin of my naive Pm model. The power ratio...

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

Yes, the Ride website seems to be the only way to get raw FIT files from recorded rides. Thanks for the tip! Tried again yesterday but still can't find a way to get a FIT file straight from the app. Now I just need a palatable way to get the FIT files into Excel.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Totally unaware of this thoughtful feature. The more I use and learn about the Turbo operating system for Spec mid-drives, the more I admire the design and execution. That includes the current Specialized app. Just used it to add a TCU page to my usual 3 for an experiment I'm running. Then...

Really like the solo commentator on the official AlUla Tour extended highlights on YouTube. For example, Way with words but always crystal clear, relaxed delivery, insightful, very educational. Hope to hear him call more races. When you think about it, an interesting job requiring a very...

I also see that rotor as conical — even though I know it must be planar. Struck me the first time I saw it, and I still see it that way. Cool illusion. Maybe it's the lighting.

Just finished AlUla Stage 5/5. Glad to see Pidcock get a GC win. * The Tour's striking desert mountain scenery reminded me a bit of Death Valley in the US. Now I'm going to have to look up the geology. As many have noted, getting to ogle beautiful scenery is one of the best things about...

Notice that there's always a "demilitarized zone" of neutral white between the intense greens and oranges in these patterns. I think that's why they don't clash here.
