New Jersey Would Be Foolish To Require E-Bike Insurance & Registration

What about one wheels? Those things can fly over 60 mph and even more dangerous because of beside the high speed ability they require strong balancing skill, prone for issues with obstacles, solely rely on electronics and have no effective brakes. Am I free to use them on public roads in NJ...

New Jersey Would Be Foolish To Require E-Bike Insurance & Registration

Like mopeds to be precise (not allowed on highways). But now you can take your 15 mph 250W limited electric "moped" on let's say a single lane 45 mph road, occupy the whole lane just like the law requires mopeds to do and piss the drivers off.

New High Torque IGH announced by 3x3

There is a guy claims there is a part can fail under high torque in the 3X3 nine hub and he makes reinforced part replacement for it. Anyone knows anything about it? https://www.facebook.com/groups/1097003821385412/posts/1255045488914577/

New ebike laws in California taking effect January 1, 2026

I use 2 bright flashing red lights on my backpack. I want to make sure the cars pay attention. Steady red light might not drag attention. It is safer to drag attention rather than not bein distracting. Sure flashing lights are annoying, but danger due to flashing light distraction factor is...

Archon X1 Programming Thread (questions and experiences)

The reason is Krasnodar Jandrijevic and his new company EXFORCE need to give us the explanation about the INNORACE situation. More details are here. https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/threads/luna-m600-ludicrous-v2-reverse-engineering-and-firmware-making.127833/page-16#post-1876868 We expect...

Archon X1 Programming Thread (questions and experiences)

Yes, this is not Bafang controller. This is VESC based high performance controller with more power and opportunity to use higher voltage for Bafang M620 motor. I do not know if it is for CANbus or UART version of Bafang M620 though. Maybe it works with both. It also has a dedicated website...

New High Torque IGH announced by 3x3

I do not know. Google finds this threads though https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/threads/has-anyone-actually-used-a-3x3-nine-or-revolute-igh-with-or-without-a-mid-motor.124751/ https://electricbike.com/forum/forum/main-forum/general-discussions/168707-3x3-nine-igh-and-bbshd-belt-drive

New High Torque IGH announced by 3x3

I am fine with the rotary shifter. It has some freeplay but it works and you do not need to deal with oil so it is easier to install and maintain than Kindernay shifter (besides the cable lines are more rigid than hydraulic lines and require more careful routing and avoiding sharp turns).

New High Torque IGH announced by 3x3

It still works no problem. I also installed a second one on another electric bicycle with 4500W VESC for Bafang M600 controller and it works fine too. https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/threads/luna-m600-ludicrous-v2-reverse-engineering-and-firmware-making.127833/page-9#post-1868358

The Future of eBikes: How Fast is Too Fast?

The Future of eBikes: How Fast is Too Fast?

You might not like it, but faster electric bikes can be safer. https://electrek.co/2025/11/19/you-might-not-like-it-but-faster-electric-bikes-can-be-safer-heres-why/

The Future of eBikes: How Fast is Too Fast?

I would avoid to ride on the streets with the traffic with a restricted 1, 2 or 3 class e-bike - it is too slow and too underpowered to be safe on the streets. On the streets you need to be able to move at least at car speeds or faster and be able to accelerate fast enough at least like a car...

    Kinderney trouble shooting

The teeth look OK. It is hard to tell looking on this picture if there is an issue somewhere else. You basically need to actuate those things and see if those things move freely full stroke. Remove those fingers out of the housing too. There are plastic plungers with seals inside, inspect those...

    Kinderney trouble shooting

Check if the fingers with teeth inside the actuator move when you press the levers before disassembling it. You want to achieve nice full range motion of those features. To disassemble the actuator unscrew the hydraulic lines, then unscrew the housing bolt, then I believe this thing will fall...

    Kinderney trouble shooting

If you can shift the gear hub manually check the shifting actuator. You can actuate the shift actuator off of the gearhub and look into the bore and observe if the shifting fingers move inside the actuator properly. The possible issues is a shifting finger does not move freely within full range...

    Kinderney trouble shooting

It looks like you already asked it. Remove the wheel from the bicycle 1) Fix the torque arm 2) Try to rotate the shaft clockwise and counterclockwise (you might need to use pliers) If you can shift it manually the issue is in the shifting actuator and not inside the gear hub...
