    Charger timer?

In terms of longevity, the optimal charge voltage is 3.92V/cell. Battery experts believe that this threshold eliminates all voltage-related stresses; going lower may not gain further benefits but induce other symptoms 3.92v/cell is approximately 80% (See BU-808b: What causes Li-ion to die?)...

    Belt drive conversion

Half link chains are not stronger... The weak and wear points are the pins and rollers not the side plates. Their purpose is to facilitate a more exact chain legnth that is often an issue with BMX bikes. You'd be much better off with an e_rated chain on a powerful mid_drive.

    Rear Wheel Removal Tip

I'm not using thick or puncture resistant tubes myself.... But I am using Flat Out which seems to be working well as I haven't had a flat in over 8000mi. The one flat I did get over 2 years ago was from a pretty big rusty nail.

    Hoping this is ok here

I've had this one for 5 years now. . . And it works very well without issue. It has a quick release lever to depress the pin so there's no air loss disconnecting which is a recommended feature on any shock pump since they are high pressure/low volume. The shock brand'd pumps (Fox, Rockshox)...

    Rear Wheel Removal Tip

I don't know... C sounds pretty good 🙃 🤣 You have to understand that On and Off road requires a much different tread, especially if you ride spirited. There are hybrid all terrain tires out there, but not so much in the fat tire world right now. Even then they are a compromise as they don't...

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

Supposedly the Zen has a 3yr Warranty... but they've all been missing in action since the beginning of the year.

    Charger timer?

Like I mentioned the DIY Smart Charge Adapter that I put together has some redundancy built in with two shut down settings of SoC and time. Then when fed by the Tapo outlet that adds a separate 3rd shutdown with another timer. But at the end of the day even if they all failed On you would still...

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

You're just not having good luck with this bike. Curious... How are you receiving Rohloff support? From an LBS or thru Zen? That said my first Rohloff from Zen came with a myriad of installation mistakes and fuck_ups. From a missing Freewheel Spring to torn gaskets, missing bolts, crimped...

    Charger timer?

These TP_Link Tapo Outlets work well and are very easy to set up. You can set up any type of Schedule or timer On/Off/ desired and are easily monitored and controlled by a smart phone. You can turn them On locally and they'll run what ever you have set up. I find them a lot more versatile than a...

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

My setup is chain dive but I still feel the Rohloff is a low maintenance, low failure solution. Same +5000mi on my chain and it doesn't seem to be wearing much with the 1x1 gear setup and no lateral forces and an always perfect chainline.

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

Curious... What issue did you have with the Rohloff. +5000mi on mine now without issue.

    Charger timer?

I've put together several of these.... Charge to any SOC you desire from any starting point and also has a built in timer as a secondary shutdown. Since it disconnects the load afterwards, there's no vampire discharge if left connected. Add a home automation outlet and you can set it to start...

    Rear Wheel Removal Tip

It wasn't hidden 🙃 ... but it's also not a pavement tread in any way. Jumbo Jim" THE FAT BIKE TIRE. Extremely light. The large volume can be ridden with extremely low air pressure. Ideal on soft ground, rough and very loose terrain. Available in widths of 100, 110 or 120 millimetres.

Known Issues & Problems with Zen Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Yeah you're probably right on the CANbus requirement and for the communication handshake. That said I can't see it causing any damage to try it. It may be that the charger won't output until it sees the battery... so if the new one outputs without the handshake it may work. If you do try it, you...

    DMO2 Conversation, Programing

You still haven't learned how to use a throttle. It's not that you can't do it otherwise.. it's that it's not as effective and/or safe. And at times, as fun. Throttle response is different than Torque response from PAS and you don't get cramps because most use is just a second or two. The dead...

E-Bike Theft (no way to prevent it?)

You know you can shut off all the communication on your phone without removing the sim and battery. Just turn off all radios. GPS / Bluetooth /Airplane Mode / Wifi Much easier to just toggle them on/off or even the phone itself Though I think you're being a little paranoid.

    Kinderney trouble shooting

From what you have said it sounds like the shift mechanisms. Have you tried removing it and shifting the hub manually? Once disconnected you should be able to see if the shift mech' operates on its own as well.
