Brake Wear Question -- Is it possible...

What's not mentioned in the article are ceramic pads which imo are the best choice for all but the most demanding braking.

Brake Wear Question -- Is it possible...

In the winter I often flush out the caliper with some water after a gritty ride. You can use a garden hose or even a spray bottle or garden sprayer. If you have a compressor you can blow them clear/dry afterwards as well.

    Brake bleeding without bleeding ports

Glad you got it working... as there's more than one way to skin a cat 👍 I'll have to remember that if I ever run into a similar problem. Very similar to how you bleed a car brake system, except for the caliper elevation 🤣 Just understand that the two of the three lever bleed you did with the...

Cable disc brakes still use a caliper.

    Brake bleeding without bleeding ports

Well I don't agree with the syringe at the lever to do a lever bleed. I would try the cup one more time and be patient. The double syringe will probably work but can be a bit more messy as well as requiring you to be very conscious of procedure or you can introduce more air. I guess this is...

    Question about Grease !

You're better off sticking with manufacturer recommendations. They often take into consideration things such as plastics that may be affected. On the Bafangs motors many use Mobil SCH100.. a high quality NLGI 2 synthetic grease suitable for electric motors as there is no manufacturer...

Ok... That's one post in the past year. Here's a funny excerpt "They say the true test of character isn’t how you act on your best days—but how you show up on your hardest ones. We are grateful to each and every customer of Zen and our team will come back stronger in 2026 to support you. -...

Zen Photon Ultra - limited version (Bafang Ultra, Rohloff Speed hub, Gates belt drive)

Yeah it's all a bit sad. Seems that Canadian eBike sellers with Indian owners (Zen, Biktrix and WattWagon) all suffer from the same over promising and under delivering. Me personally am in a bit of a different situation in that my bike was a one_off prototype with all off the shelf easily...

    Brake bleeding without bleeding ports

When you do a lever bleed to remove trapped air you need to remove the screw from the lever completely, install a funnel in the port and fill it half way with fluid. *Do NOT loosen the screw on the caliper.* Try to position all in as much as possible straight line and vertically. As you squeeze...

    Quality Charger

The Meanwell is a nice unit. @m@Robertson swore by them. I have a 5A bench top unit but I'm not fond of using it for charging unless I'm troubleshooting. Settings can drift and need to be checked occasionally and that defeats having things automated. My DIY unit allows me to use any dumb...
