Vado SL firmware update - power boosted?

Agreed. Also a similar bug to the voltage CSV might also affect the motor power display. I noticed and installed the new version of Blevo today. No time for a ride but I did check to see that the touted feature of being able to read the range extender seems to be working properly - now...

Vado SL firmware update - power boosted?

Went on ride using mission control to show rider power. Around 300 W peak in turbo. So the 450 W showing up on Blevo after the upated is probably just an anomaly with how Blevo is showing the motor power. Strange since the SL has a sensor for motor power so not sure why Blevo is not using it...

Vado SL firmware update - power boosted?

Went on the same 10 mile turbo segment today without the range extender. This time current was 6.2 max but motor power is still in the 450 W range. I'm thinking whatever the firmware update did, it confuses Blevo's report enough to show 450 instead of 300 W in Turbo mode. As for the increase...

Vado SL firmware update - power boosted?

You are probably right that Blevo doesn't include the range extender. At the start of the ride it always asks what the range extender Wh is. One stat always shows battery start/end with the range extender 1/2 pct of the main battery. For my last ride it shows battery consumed 22% calculated...

Vado SL firmware update - power boosted?

I'm not sure there is an extra 150 W. If there is, maybe all it is doing is heating up the motor. The increase in motor temperature was very noticeable. On the flats I didn't notice any boost to make it easier to top out at 28 mph. I'm gonna see if it makes a difference on climbs. First...

Vado SL firmware update - power boosted?

Oh, I agree that what MC and Blevo call motor power is the input power to the motor. Assuming the 320 Wh and 160 Wh specs for the main and ranged extender are accurate, comparing what Blevo reports as motor power Wh used in a ride to the % used by the battery, it's more in the ballpark that...

Vado SL firmware update - power boosted?

Specialized has a number of youtube videos that could be helpful. Specifically tells how to set up the Mission Control app to connect your phone to the bike for tuning/diagnostics etc. My LBS gave me the pairing code written on the manual so I didn't need take off the TCU to find it.

Vado SL firmware update - power boosted?

I only see the increase motor output to 445-450 W in Turbo mode. Attached shows different rider/motor power ratios vs assist levels. Harder to see but in Eco for a little over first 5 miles, then Sport for about 10, then Turbo for almost 10 more miles, then off (herd of turtles blocking the...

Vado SL firmware update - power boosted?

As GrayFox noted, Mission Control shows revs and when updates are available. My motor was updated to version 43.6.33 by my LBS where I bought the bike.

Vado SL firmware update - power boosted?

I recently had the firmware update done on my 4.0 SL. I also recently installed Blevo on my phone so have periodically been recording motor power among other things. Prior to the update - both Mission Control and Blevo reported max motor power of around 300 W when in turbo 100/100 mode. It...

Power Needed to ride like on a regular 17lb bike

How long would it take you to do the same ride on 17 lb bike? The Creo with SL has a nominal rating of 480 Wh. Let's say 450 Wh is usable. If you would normally take 8 hrs to do 150 miles that would be an avg 18.75 mph. 450 Wh of the Creo would equal 450Wh/8h = 56.25 Wh/h giving an avg...

Firmware Update on my Vado SL 5.0 caused problems with my Garmin 830...

I had my 4.0 SL firmware updated recently as well. For my garmin edge 130, it automatically re-paired the sensors - it also (re)calibrated the wheel size. I expect that the firmware reboot process clears the sensor pairings.

    BLEvo app working on Vado!!

My guess is that it is measuring consumed power since it would be easier to measure. 1. That is a much easier way to think about it, thanks for pointing this out. 2. So for an SL that would be .32x If pp setting is high enough, this will hold true for any rider power I generate. Looking at...

Creo - Is there a way to record and see percent of ride spent in each mode - eco, sport, turbo?

It is a separate app for use on your android or iphone. I use it instead of Mission Control. The android playstore link has some screenshots you can see some of the data it can show: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dopa.android.blevo&hl=en_US

Is there a Garmin that works well with the ''ebike field" app?

Agreed that the display on the screen is not terribly useful. I do keep it on my 3rd "housekeeping" screen along with the odomer, garmin battery charge and other info I only occasionally look at. The real benefit to me was the premium version stores the battery percentage and assist level in...

Is there a Garmin that works well with the ''ebike field" app?

I have a Vado 4.0 SL. Since I already had the garmin it was no risk to try the free version to confirm compatibility. I suspect it should work with the Vado as well but if you don't already have the garmin might be a good idea to find out for sure before springing for one.

Creo - Is there a way to record and see percent of ride spent in each mode - eco, sport, turbo?

Ebike field premium with a garmin will record graphically that info but does not have access to motor power in Wh. Blevo with a smartphone can also show graphically but also gives % time in each mode and also breaksdown assist in Wh for both rider/motor for each mode as well as much more info.

    Creo - long climb range?

Mission control can be configured to show bike and motor power side by side. But if you are going to use your phone anyway, check out Blevo. You can still use your garmin to record your rides. Take a look at this thread which includes a graph of rider/motor power/altitude over distance...

Is there a Garmin that works well with the ''ebike field" app?

I've been using a garmin as a bike computer before I got my Vado 4.0 SL. The 4.0 does not come with a TCD and I don't see a reason to get one. Like Grayfox I've been using the Garmin to record ride data for several analog bikes over the years as well as the Vado. I like having all the ride...

Is there a Garmin that works well with the ''ebike field" app?

I use a garmin edge 130 and both the free and premium versions of ebike field work well to show and record assist mode and battery level. I've been using garmin for the last few years to keep a record of my rides so I'll continue to use garmin (in spite of the recent hack attack). I've also...
