    Just for fun...

@PedalUma is a crafty sod. He once accused me of being a bot, so there's that.

    Gravel Vs. Trail Bikes

Oh yeah. The universal bike frame. It does enduro, downhill, and cross country equally well. You can show up to a road race with a 3 speed, too. Good luck with that. 😁

    Cable actuated hydraulic caliper upgrade

I'm not sure what a "hydro brake" is, but a hydraulic disc brake, as used on bicycles, is a hydraulic braking system that uses a lever containing a master cylinder, a caliper containing one or more slave cylinders, and a sealed, high pressure, hydraulic hose that connects the two. The system is...

    Gravel Vs. Trail Bikes

If we are not talking about e-bikes, here is a comparison of the geometries of a road bike, comfort road bike, and a gravel bike. Pinarello Dogma F1. This is a WorldTour class racing bike. Pinarello Dogma X1. This is a high end comfort road bike. Pinarello Dogma GR. This is a high end...

    Just for fun...

@PedalUma is older than @Stefan Mikes, younger than @stompandgo , and definitely younger than @Jeremy McCreary. That's my math problem solved for today. Merry Christmas.

    Gravel Vs. Trail Bikes

Very true, but lightweight (~25 pounds) analog mountain bikes are raced from the local to UCI World Cup level for XC, Enduro, and other non-downhill classes. Downhill MTB's look more like unpowered motorcycles these days.

The last upgrades for my Aipas

They are typically stronger than a cable actuated brake, but you don't get the mechanical advantage of a hydraulic brake system. I'm also a firm believer that no e-bike that heavy with that kind of load carrying capacity should have 2-piston brakes of any kind. We do a lot of 4-piston upgrades...

    Cable actuated hydraulic caliper upgrade

That's a cable actuated hydraulic caliper, not a "hydro brake".

The Amflow can be derestricted like any other e-bike, but it has the built-in 1000w 30 second boost mode right out of the box.

You would love the Merritt Parkway in CT. Every overpass along the route, from the NYS line to the middle of the state, is different.

    RAD Power Bikes Going Bust

Lots of bike and e-bike manufacturers significantly overestimated the demand coming out of COVID. It was no different in the 1980's LA Olympics bike boom and subsequent bust. RAD's issue was all of their growth was heavily leveraged. While analog bike manufacturers consolidated under groups like...

15%-20% per hour agrees with what I've seen myself and with others. Did you start the ride at 100%? If you're commuting, and your phone is 95%-100% at the start of the ride, you charge it during the day, and have the same ride home, it's not going to be a problem. On the other hand, my Garmin...

I'm a weight weenie in the sense that when I add or upgrade equipment, weight is a factor, even if it costs more. I'm not stripping off the rack and fenders, though. A true weenie would strip everything off that isn't needed for propulsion.

The problem is, who determines "bona-fide"? "Misinformation" and "disinformation" have turned into facts that someone disagrees with. These "terms" are too often used to sway opinion and kill discourse. By design.
