I accidentally posted this in another thread....I meant to post it here. I ended up buying this battery and tested it. So the test results are in........ I used a 48v inverter and measured the results with a reasonably accurate MNJ MOTOR DC Multi function Battery Monitor Meter with 100Amp...

If I were going to park it somewhere, I'd have a backpack and the battery would come with. Do people commute to work or go to the mall on one of these...and leaving it totally unattended.and out of sight?

Yes. LiFePo4 shines in it's ultra flat discharge "curve". From 90% SOC to 30% SOC it will deliver a constant current and voltage that is nearly flat. The other positive is long life. If you charge your LiFePO4 to only 80% and discharge it to only 40% SOC, it can last nearly a lifetime (yours)...

Can anyone with a hub motor bike describe how much parasitic drag the hub motor adds to propelling the bike with just pedal power alone ? Would it double the effort?

Are their motors manufactured in Germany or Japan ? Making them materially superior to Chinese motors? Are any of these motors manufactured in the USA? Reason I ask is I thought all these motors come from China. I guess what I'm asking is exactly what makes their motors better?

My "plan" is to use carbon fiber material I have left over from another project to build a custom hard pack with On/Off switch, vibration dampening, frame locks and custom mounts.

I've generally been warned to stay away from anything but hard case batteries for ebike use. I'm new to all this. Are you guys putting these into a hard case?
