NSW (Australia) Government Allows [Non-Converted] E-Bikes on NSW Trains

They are 1000w direct drive motors. I have each motor limited to 500w, but my controllers do not respect my limit. I need to install a dual motor VESC, then I can more reliably adjust the battery current to save my battery. I don’t trust the squarewave BrainPower controllers. With each motor...

NSW (Australia) Government Allows [Non-Converted] E-Bikes on NSW Trains

The same bike, but cleaned up a bit. I rode this bike with the battery strapped up for science. I needed to be sure that this 52v battery would work better than my 48v battery. Which it did. Now I need to continue mechanical work and save to get a proper battery that will fit in the battery...

NSW (Australia) Government Allows [Non-Converted] E-Bikes on NSW Trains

Are those SLA batteries? Looks so heavy. I understand why banning only converted bikes makes sense. They mostly don’t have speed restrictions and higher wattage output. Still sad to see PEV transport be handcuffed like this.

    single-speed ?

I’ve seen super73s fitted with a 7(maybe 10?) speed cassette. It can probably be done on similar bikes. Super73 used to sell a “kit” for the conversion, but they don’t have it any longer. Maybe it was for only a particular model. I’m not sure. What I do know is, a bike is a bike. I’m sure the...

    henry

This is very cool. Whether you like his art, or not, it’s great to see a love for art. Henry clearly has it, as well as the ones that allow it on their property. Thanks for sharing.

    Battery for the Pace 500.2?

My other bike takes my Ride1Up battery. I like when bikes have interchangeable components.

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

This is cool! You really went the extra mile to explain to the customer what is what and how to access the wires. That is a really great personal touch that I’m sure your customers like very much. Keep doing good things! 👍

    Battery for the Pace 500.2?

Most likely. Yes. It will work. Both manufacturers don’t use proprietary systems such as Bo$ch or $pecialized. Take a look at how the battery interfaces with the dock of each bike before you try it. You should find that they are the same. Might want to look at the polarity of the batteries...

Wonder if he was riding tubeless.

Is Rear Hub Drive Prone to Rear Tire Flats?

My one way commute route is 4 miles. My flat was a mile from home. Pushed the bike home and drove to work. I still got my exercise. 😂

Can't Get My New Urtopia Bike to Work

I think most people just shove an AirTag up the seatpost.

Is Rear Hub Drive Prone to Rear Tire Flats?

This is exactly why I would never ride a bike with a flat, especially on the hub motor. Rear or Front. When I got a flat on my rear hub wheel, my buddy asked why I pushed the bike home instead of riding the throttle. I explained that, due to the lack of air in the tire, there is no more tension...

Is Rear Hub Drive Prone to Rear Tire Flats?

I’ve only had a few flats. Then I got Tannus armor inserts. Only one flat in 4 years. I imagine fat tire bikes get flats more often due to their large contact to the street. I have 2.4” wide tires and feel like I miss a lot of debris. That’s another thing. Where are you doing your riding...

    Bafang G062-1000W VESC (controller) Retrofit

I know this is old and the OP hasn't logged in in over a year, but I'm really curious about the temp sensor. I have set up my motor in a similar fashion. I have a temp sensor coupled with the speed sensor. My question is, can the VESC read temp and speed sensor on the same wire?
