Creo SL Comp Carbon EVO Vs SL Expert

some thoughts - DI2 shifting is sweet, but the GRX group is very nice and I much prefer the feel of the GRX levers to old-school Ultegra levers. YMMV. Carbon wheels, MEH. I require them on my mtb, but they don't seem necessary on a motorized road bike. The R470s are pretty light in any case...

    Creo SL 1x Chainguide?

You might try replacing the Praxis wave ring with a standard Narrow-Wide type ring designed for 1x systems. We’ve had good luck with these riding in rough terrain. See posts 62 and 67 in this thread...

Wyoming winter cold is bad for them. Ship the bike to me in So. Calif. and I’ll keep I charged for ya the next six months. ;)

    Apples to apples?

Hey John, It really depends on what type of riding you like. If you lean toward the moto side of things then the more powerful the ebike the better. As Sierratim has pointed out the 250W nominal power bikes actually put out close to 800W peak power which will get you up the hill pretty darn...

Issues with the Turbo Creo SL (all variants)

Yes, the OEM Praxis chainring is threaded with screws that attach directly so we had to buy standard chainring bolts. We ordered 42t and 44t Founo narrow/wide 110 BCD chainrings on eBay for ~$20 each...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

I use it all the time off-road, no issues. That's why it's there. Modern chains can deal with pretty extreme 1X chain lines. (I'm currently using it with a 42t Narrow/Wide chainring, but it was fine with the 46t Praxis.) Just keep your chain clean and lubed, and make sure the B-screw is...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

I recommend practicing spinning at high rpm in lower gears. 90-95 rpm should feel comfortable and will allow you to get the most out the bike.

Issues with the Turbo Creo SL (all variants)

As described in post #62 above Mrs e-levity and I switched from the Praxis Wave chainrings to conventional Narrow-Wide chainrings. We were not experiencing significant problems with chain drop, but wanted lower gearing and chose to go with tried-and-true NW rings. We just returned from our...

Issues with the Turbo Creo SL (all variants)

I'm not convinced of the value of the Praxis "Wave Tech" chain tooth design. The teeth are all narrow, ~2mm thick, and simply alternate in an in-and-out "wave" pattern. This is claimed to create a "more open area for mud and debris" and to result in less wear, but I think it sacrifices chain...

You can use a regular stem (for a 1 1/8" steerer tube) with an adaptor shim. It should have come with your bike, but the dealer may have kept (or discarded) it. See this thread for pictures of the shim and the part number if you need to order one...

Not sure where you are in NorCal, but there are lots of XL models in both colors up there if you want to try that size first. Use the FIND NEARBY button. Mike's Bikes in Pleasanton also shows an XXL in Navy Blue, and they can probably ship to one of their other locations if that's more...

Depreciation- Second hand value Creo Sl Expert in 3 years

If you’re looking for a financial investment try teal estate or the stock market. If you’re looking to enjoy life there are lots of ways to do that, including some that are free 😉. Bikes are not one of the free ones.

Those are impressive rides, Capt Mudbuster! But be careful extrapolating distances. The first miles are the easiest, the later miles tend to be tougher. 😉

Specialized Creo SL Normal Stem Shim

Yes, the stem on the Creo is preinstalled and uses a thin shim to fit the Future Shock. Here’s the one we removed from Mrs e-levity’s Creo: The parts box that is included with the bike also includes a thicker shim that allows fitment of a standard mtb stem (1 1/8” ID). Here it is installed...
