    Show Us Your Bikes

This is Nightmare, a Grizl:ON CF 7. I've been blowing up my own thread with all kinds of observations about getting her dialed in right. She is fast and very smart-- maybe a little too smart for her own good, like a lot of us at her age. Between riding the hoods and the vibration dampening...

Grizl:ON CF 7 - Puppy Delivered to Vet

The controller may turn out to be a bigger issue than the power delivery levels. I do think the handlebar mini remote is something I have to get-- the simplest one is fine, it doesn't need to have a readout, I just need to be able to find a Bosch dealer who has it in stock, order it next credit...

A few people have weighed them-- somewhere, I can't remember where I was that-- and if the medium comes in just a little over 35 with pedals, it makes sense that the large would be about a pound heavier. I'm not sure how good my scale is, but I'm seeing 36.2 lbs. w/ pedals (and reflectors...

Yeah, indeed, using the shock pump would be a terrible idea, per multiple sources! That would be great-- maybe you're right! That means the rolling resistance will probably improve and weight will decrease slightly when I go tubeless! (Though it probably won't make as much difference as it...

Yes, it does ship with pedals. They are supposed to be terrible, but I just find them unremarkable (and all plastic.) As for what else is in the box: Too much stuff to list! You get a pump with a pressure gauge for the shock that may be fine for the tires as well-- I'm just about to test...

It is a weird fork-- none of my others have only 40mm of travel! Having said that, it does feel super soft. This is how I like it because the arthritis in my hands is so bad-- but given the fact that it turned out that REI did not adjust the tension on my derailleur cable-- it's taken 5 turns...

Well, I've only tracked three so far! The first was 118, the second two were both 130. Not great generally, but not terrible, I guess, for a 68 year old guy with a connective tissue disorder (similar to lupus, but different antibody, slightly better prognosis.)

    I bought a Grizl:ON CF 9, AMA

Hey, Leon! I just got a Grizl:ON CF7 myself last week and I'm having a great time with it! I agree that it's a phenomenal deal at 4K. It is also my first gravel bike, though I've had drop bar acoustic bikes and eMTB and acoustic MTB and kind of a hybrid, raised-bar-with riser backsweep setup...

Thanks so much, really helpful-- I will probably reach out to Canyon at some point, see if I can roll into REI and get the modes tweaked. But... I'm still not sure I'm using the modes of power I have correctly, and efficiently. Yesterday, I tested what I'm calling configuration B (Tour+...

I need to find a good tool to calculate the grades! Most of them are just steep. A few, however, have sections that are pretty ridiculous. When I was younger, I couldn't go up them, even serpentine, on an acoustic bike because the front wheel would lift up and I'd lose cadence in granny gear...

But Stefan, I think we are on very different terrain! (And yes, I am going faster, probably.) How much vertical do you do in a 4 mile ride? I am doing 480 and 725 feet of vertical in a relatively short distance. I For reference, Eco total assistance is 60%, Tour base assistance seems to be...

I think so, I'm just about to check. But I'm not sure I should swap Sport for Tour+. I think I should swap Sport for Eco, so my sequence of modes would be: Tour+ (dynamic), Sport (up to 240%), Sprint (up to 280%) and Turbo (up to the full 340%. The reason for this is, incredibly, I think it's...

Super helpful, Stefan, particularly r.e. 'average cadence.' This is a new metric to me. Yeah, it would be nice to adjust the assistance levels a bit more, but it seems like there are just a few power bands that are under-represented. I feel like there should be some level of assist between...

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

So sorry about using the wrong name here, Stomp. I had been responding to you on another thread, and my brain got its wires crossed. Always been an issue for me, getting worse with advancing years! Thanks for this. I knew the laws differed in different places; I didn't realize the...

Stomp, I have great respect for your posts and really appreciate your contribution to the forum, and you know I'm not just saying that. However, I literally cannot follow your argument here There must be some kind of misunderstanding, something I'm missing. I will assume that you do not...

Okay, I got a bit deeper into Flow and I see it has a lot of ride data that I missed. It does seem like a bare-bones speedometer app combined with Flow will give me all the information I need. My crappo Chinese speedometer is acting up anyway, but who needs it? I'll just stick the phone on...

Horn, Bell or Voice, how to warn others of your presence and intentions

What do we think is the most lightweight bell or horn option? I find the 'flick the lever' type to be tiny, but curiously hard to operate under stress. For truly clueless pedestrians, drivers, or other riders, I know I'll do what I've always done: "Yo, yo, yo, yo..." followed by, "Thanks, man"...

15 MPH E-bike and Scooter speed limit announced for NY City by Mayor Adams

Maybe some folks use it that way, but that is not the argument that I am making. All I'm saying is, it's a good starting point. Why not use the gear and systems-- radar and laser detectors, highway patrol-- that we already have in place as the foundation for developing a FEW new, targeted...

Do All eBike Motors Have Issues?

Ya, 'all other factors' are NOT equal! Depends on the OP's use case scenario, mid drive vs. hub drive, etc.

Grizl:ON CF 7 - Puppy Delivered to Vet

This bike does have the controller in the top tube. I think I read that at least some of the Kiox were compatible. But it seems there may be no need for this, as I have cadence, power, access to nav, possibly speed, with the free app, though battery % you have to pay for. I don't need it...
