    Juggernaut Ultra Addons

Good posting! We just added a long-travel Thudbuster to one of our Ultras too. It seems to take the harshness out of the hardtail rear suspension. We used the 27.2 mm diameter Thudbuster but our Ultra has a 28.6 mm seat post so we had to shim the difference.

    First impressions - Juggernaut Ultra

I set the Ultra to Level 5 and came up our steep driveway using maximum throttle and no pedalling. The speed pegged at 8 km/hr and the motor pulled 1300 watts. I went up the hill a second time using Level 3 and a leisurely pedal pace. The speed was 11 km/hr and the motor was drawing between 400...

Starting uphill from a stop One of the true joys of the Ultra is the ability to start uphill. On our old mountain bikes we often can’t get pedalling from a stop going up our steep local logging roads, even in the lowest gear. If the road is wide enough, we have to start downhill and do a...

    Juggernaut Ultra batteries

Roshan, could you spell out some of the parameters of the Ultra Battery Management System. What is the low voltage cutoff? What is the maximum charge? 4.1V vs 4.2V. (90% vs 100%) If you have the display set on battery percentage, does the number show the actual battery percentage or does it...

    Juggernaut Ultra Addons

Your baskets look great! We ride in backcountry so we need something different. We got a set of Arkel Orca 45 panniers. They are waterproof and the pair will hold a total of 45 litres. The support hooks can be adjusted to fit the rear rack. We’ll see how well they hold up to rough treatment...

The bolt may have dropped out. It's a standard metric capscrew unlike the hex key bolt on the other side. Look in the bottom of the crate to see if you can find the bolt. Otherwise you should be able to find a replacement metric capscrew in local auto parts store.

Yes, that was confusing. The two bolts have different heads - one is a hex wrench head while the other is a standard mm bolt. You have to turn the bike over to really see it well.

    Walk-along mode – Juggernaut Ultra

I tried the walk mode on a steep grassy pitch in our yard. The Ultra walked right up no problem and the motor showed no signs of slowing. The slope measured 35 degrees ( 70% grade). That's steep enough that I may want to walk alongside the Ultra coming down rather than riding and possibly going...

    Juggernaut Ultra batteries

Does anyone know exactly what batteries are used with the Ultra battery packs? According to the following article long term storage should be at 48% capacity and never lower than 20%. For safety suppliers ship at 25% to 30% capacity. Also 18650 batteries should never be stored fully charged...

    Juggernaut Ultra Addons

On our first long ride, mud was caked on the motor and the two wires leading into the motor. So it’s mudflap time. I used rubber stair tread available from building supply stores. It cuts easily and is heavy enough that it doesn’t blow back in the wind. On our second long ride, with the...

    Juggernaut Ultra Addons

The controller display is fastened to the handlebar and I don’t want to remove the display if I need to flip the bike on its head to fix a tire. So I built a plywood standoff to keep the display safe. The standoff is small and light and folds. I can keep it in the pannier on the bike and...

    Juggernaut Ultra Controller setup

I see that the DPC14 display storage temperature is -30 C. I was thinking of storing the bikes in an unheated garage but we can get -40 C in winter so I'll have to take the displays off, unplug and bring them inside for the winter.

Another assembly tip - two power cables are unattached on delivery. They are colour coded but there is a very small keyway inside the cables. You have to line up the key and keyway to make it easy to push the cable ends together. The tires have shraeder valves and come inflated to 12 psi which...

    Walk-along mode – Juggernaut Ultra

Yes thanks I saw that. Good news we have walk mode - 6km/hr by holding down the (-) button. Now the Ultra is perfect!

    Walk-along mode – Juggernaut Ultra

We bike on old logging roads with deep deactivation ditches. Some are so rough that we have to get off and push our bikes or risk a spill. In other spots the brush is so thick, we have to walk the bikes or get slapped by alder branches. In the past, we had difficulty pushing our mountain bikes...

    Juggernaut Ultra Controller setup

I found little on Youtube about the DPC14 controller used on the new Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra. Attached is a photo/text description of how to set up the controller the way you want it. Hope this helps. File is in pdf format so you can print it.

    First impressions - Juggernaut Ultra

My wife and I just received two Juggernaut Ultras from Roshan. We’ll use the bikes on old logging roads to get to hiking trailheads. Wow – that’s my first impression. Tons of power, quiet and good handling. The Ultra is heavyweight but feels light under power. All the components seem very well...
