Looking for replacement to Kilimanjaro Hitch Mounted E-Bike Carrier

There is one at Sam's Club by Kilimanjaro for $168. I don't think it's the same one carried by Costco that was recalled. I've sent the Kilimanjaro an email to verify. I'll post their reply when it arrives.

    Velotric Discover 2 review

Thanks, Mike. I may have over-reacted to my first ride. What I discovered, is that the throttle seems to be related to the mode (Eco, Trail, Boost) and PAS. I had been riding in the Eco mode on PAS 1 when I first engaged the throttle. Today, I rode in Trial mode but still in PAS 1 and found...

    Velotric Discover 2 review

Purchased a Velotric D2 recently and took my first real ride yesterday. I tried both the torque and cadence settings -- and both have their place in my ride depending on the assistance I need at the time (77 years old needs more help at times :)). One thing I noticed, is that the throttle did...

Known Issues & Problems with Rad Power Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Interesting experience. I was going to purchase the discontinued RadCity 5 Plus -- but read that a number of owners have had controller problems. Frankly, I've decided to look at another brand. Currently (and I may have said this in a previous post -- sorry) -- I'm looking at the Velotric...

Known Issues & Problems with Rad Power Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

1900 miles on my 2018 RadCity. No real issues beyond routine maintenance. Replace the freewheel and chain recently. A special socket is needed to replace the freewheel and Radebikes was out of stock. They kindly told me where I could purchase one.

New Rad City 5 Plus Controller Replacement-Is it an External Mount Now?

Thanks for your reply, mrgold35! There is a retail Rad store about 1.5 hours away from me. But currently they are closed due to hurricane Milton! We are about to get hammered. I am a bit concerned about buying a bike that I'm pretty sure Rad is discontinuing...thus parts in the future may be...

New Rad City 5 Plus Controller Replacement-Is it an External Mount Now?

Wow! This was a most interesting series of posts. I have been looking at purchasing the RadCity 5 Plus (now on sale at a crazy price) -- but I now I hesitate. I'm pretty sure RAD is closing out the City5 which will likely make it even more difficult to obtain parts when needed. I currently...

    Cassette and Chain recommendations

Just a quick update: My LBS was able to replace the freewheel and chain. It was difficult to do since there appeared to be no way to actually remove the rear wheel from the controller cable. The original owner may have made some strange modifications, but frankly, I'm a bit nervous about the...

Torque or Cadence -- which do I have?

Thanks for those kind expressions, Jeremy! my LBS got flooded by the recent hurricane, so I need to wait for them to get back on their feet before I can test additional bikes.I’m also waiting for the holiday sale season to help me with my purchase. That gives me more time for research and testing.

Torque or Cadence -- which do I have?

I've been testing the torque sensor on a Velotric Discover 2 -- frankly, I'm not especially happy with it. Indeed, it does what it's designed to do, but at my age, frankly, I'm not interested in pumping the pedals :). I drive a Lexus because I like "creature comforts". I'll probably go with a...

    Velotric Discover 2 review

I've been reading a watching a ton or reviews on this bike. It certainly looks promising. There is another one that is priced similarly and also gets excellent reviews: The Aima Santa Monica. Not quite as snappy in appearance but seems to have the "bones" for a solid long-term investment.

Torque or Cadence -- which do I have?

Hey Jeremy, As I promised, I test rode the Aventon and a Velotric Discover 2. Both had torque sensors and I found them easy to ride. The terrain was very level, so I did not have the experience of any hill climbing. If I'm not mistaken, the Discover 2 has the option of selecting either...

Torque or Cadence -- which do I have?

Thanks Jeremy. Planning on visiting my LBS this coming week and test riding an Aventon with a torque sensor. Not sure if it will be a significant difference over my cadence sensor. I‘m 76 and ride about 10 to 15 miles each evening Through my neighborhood which has bike lanes. So far I enjoy...

Hello Rad Power Bike Owners - Help :)

I’m riding a 2018 RAD City. It’s old technology but serves me well for the neighborhood riding that I do. I have been in a number of chat sessions with RAD and generally satisfied. Some technical questions are too much for most reps but they try. finding parts is difficult for a bike this old...

Torque or Cadence -- which do I have?

Thanks for all the feedback. Actually I’m thinking of purchasing a new bike. For my price range and riding style (street) I’m thinking of either a Aventon or a Lectric XPress 750.

Torque or Cadence -- which do I have?

I'm not sure if I have a torque or cadence sensor. I think it's cadence because my bike is a 2018 RAD model and I'm under the impression that torque sensors are showing up on newer models. However, when I pedal at different rates, I notice that the wattage changes -- if I stop pedaling, the...

    New battery issues

Thanks for the response, indianajo! As it turns out, I think I discovered my problem -- as usual -- user error. I checked the controller on my bike and it's rated for 17A -- the battery I installed is 20A. Stupid me didn't check before I made the purchase :(

    New battery issues

Currently own a 2018 RAD City ebike. The stock battery is a 48v 14ah battery. I just received an aftermarket battery (48v 20ah). I plugged it in and the display only comes on briefly -- it will not stay on. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? BTW, the old battery still works fine and the...
