    Rad 5 Bike Electrical Issues

Sorry for your problems, but my experience with Rad has been polar opposite. Very few problems and very good customer service. I have a 2018 Rover can have been quite happy with it. Just saying... since it's mostly people with issues that post, not the people who have good experiences TT

Bike tires? Puncture proof? Skid proof?

My opinion, and not what you want to hear, but learn how to deal with a flat. Carry the tools and a spare tube. Learning to fix a flat ought to be a standard part of the standard learning to ride a bike curriculum. It just isn't that big a deal. Use Tannus Armor if you want, use a sealant...

    Right of way question

Good point about the local law. I think the vast majority of bike lanes in the US are on the right and are for going the same direction as auto traffic. There are probably exceptions, but I hope they are clearly signed with instructions that might be contrary to the norm. Knowing no more...

First (Slow) Blowout 5+ miles from Home

I knew what you meant, and I don't mean to seem to argue, but I think of "blowout" as analogous to "explosion", i.e.: sudden. A bullet never slowly explodes out of a gun, for example. Leaks happen at different speeds, including fast and very fast. A blowout means one instant you're riding on...

First (Slow) Blowout 5+ miles from Home

I never go anywhere without a patch kit and a way to inflate my tires -- and the tools necessary to fix a flat. Although, I am quite capable of lame-brainedly doing something similar to your story. Live and learn. hopefully. For what it's worth, maybe this is a matter of opinion, isn't "slow...

Is there an E-bike Insurer that is not Markel?

From the link above, "Insurance through Oyster is provided by Markel Insurance Company". I think that's good, but I went with Markel directly. TT

More Rad lawsuit fallout? (good for the consumer)

So McDonalds can't sell a hot cup of coffee, but OneWheels can sell these things to idiots? Pogo said it well. "We have met the enemy and he is us." TT

Just got an XP3.0 and the rear tire is flat (wont inflate) and it wont power up.

Even if Lectic sends you a new tube, it might be worth trying some tire sealant, like Slime, Stans, FlatOut, etc. On a new bike though, I'm guessing a spoke or a pinch flat, neither of which are best candidates for sealant. I'd suggest removing the tube, finding and fixing the flat, and then...

    Garmin Edge 520 Plus problems

Try calling Garmin's tech support number on their website. I don't think they asked for warranty or a serial number last time I called them. IMO sometimes their people are more helpful than others, but you might get lucky. TT

    Rad law suit

I had a good friend who used to say, "you can sue the pope for bastardy," meaning, anybody can sue anybody for anything. Doesn't mean anything. I remember when no one would bring a suit like this and if they did it would be thrown out. Of course, I'm old. Things are a lot different now...

More Rad lawsuit fallout? (good for the consumer)

Yeah, well, I can't really argue against all that. You might be right but my experience doesn't back it up. Anyway, suing Rad about this seems a whole lot like suing McDonald's after you get burned when you spill their coffee in your lap. (I think McDonald's lost that one, didn't they?) Go...

    Replace tire???

You will likely be fine! Thanks for the update. I get that money is a relative thing. $40 is nothing to some people; for others it a choice between a new tire or feeding the baby or paying the rent. You could have a brand new tire everyday and still have a catastrophic blowout 17 miles from...

    Replace tire???

It's hard to tell, even if I could see it up close and in person, but I think you'd probably be okay with a boot. Of course, replacing the tire removes any question.... I'd probably fix it and keep an eye on it. TT

    Wrench for 15mm rear axle?

Interesting question, so I Googled it. Google says a 1/4" drive is good for about 30 foot pounds, so 41 Nm, so, if you take Google at it's word, maybe it would work, but barely. That's assuming the nut wasn't over torqued. You might be stronger than the users Google has in mind, and you could...

    Wrench for 15mm rear axle?

Good points, but not really relevant to how or what tool to use to loosen the axle nut. Maybe very important to how or even whether to try to remove the rear wheel in the field. @AvelancheRun didn't ask about that, although it was almost certainly implied, I agree. I haven't kept up, but I...

    Wrench for 15mm rear axle?

The problem with Knipex pliers or cone wrenches, or adjustable wrenches is getting them around the nut. (Look at the picture in the original post.) Even if you could get them on the nut there probably won't be enough room to turn them at all. There are all kinds of wrenches and pliers, but...

    Wrench for 15mm rear axle?

Aside from the torque wrench question, if you want the lowest cost solution to removing your axle nut, this is probably it: combination wrench A certain amount of discretion called for here, but I don't think I have ever regretted spending more for better quality tools. (Not saying the wrench...
