Ready to pull the trigger on two different e-bikes, the EBC Model Y and the Biktrix Juggernaut

I’m a 250 lb heavyset bear myself and have been enjoying the 750w Juggernaut Duo across any terrain, including absurdly steep gravelly Coast Salish topography.A bit of pedaling uphill, otherwise no issues. It’s an electric motorbike more than anything else.Having also tried the 1000w version,I can...

Hunt For Men Wanted in E-Bike Robbery Spree. Police are searching for 2 men accused of throwing people off their bikes.

You’re all making me very grateful for where I live. Can’t really get with armed e-biking here in sleepy Vancouver.

    OMG Am I losing it?

I found the radrover step-through v.enjoyable during a test drive a year ago; any elitist prejudices were erased. “Lick my decals off, baby.”

    New Juggernaut HD Limited

Hi Chris,my own beloved HD Duo shows no such gap.Very uniform seal, as in your second photo, but definitely prone to dirt build-up this time of year. They do have fine customer support.Ask and ye shall receive!

Passed by accident where a biker got killed :/

Gots me a cheap generic LOUD bike horn, which I’ve had to use only twice so far,for reasons you mentioned. I don’t use it on pedestrians-it’s just too harsh-unless they ‘re blocking the bike path and ignoring/not hearing my humble bell.

Have been looking for a while and can not decide what bike to get.

Your best bet is experience.Test-drive,because the internet makes ‘em ALL look good/suitable.For example, the Lectric (20” x4” wheels) seemed ideal. But the geometry didn’t suit me.So I eliminated an entire category in one simple test drive.

Juggernaut duo: is geared hub enough?

Theemartymac! That’s a potent, useful, focused description of the situation at hand; much obliged.Clarity=decisiveness. Your precise sketch of switching gears uphill especially resonated. My current lazy technique (on a 21-speed GT Airstream cruiser) may have to evolve just a bit,but these...

Juggernaut duo: is geared hub enough?

Theemartymac,yr well chosen words are not wasted on me,and I thank you for yr insight. You just underlined my dilemma re:smooth vs. Efficient. If you know North Marine Drive in Vancouver, when the road goes uphill (for a good while) at Acadia Beach, this is where mid drive torque would be...

Juggernaut duo: is geared hub enough?

Yes E,appreciate Yr version. The 1000w was tuned to 1500 w so that’s maybe why both the owner and myself popped half-wheelies. That uphill accelerating blew my mind. Btw, the 500w (CDN setting) Rad was no rocket, but workable, and really smooth. Hoping that same torque could at least be...

TLam,thanks for the edifying links.Bet your informed decision re:mid drive pays off.Happy Trails.

Juggernaut duo: is geared hub enough?

Thanks for the insight,Eleven. Agreed, the low price tag/branding effect can be blinding, but after test riding a Radrover yesterday, and being relatively blown away at its uphill torque,my hope was that somehow the same would apply to the new iteration of the Juggernaut. Having tried a 1000 w...

Juggernaut duo: is geared hub enough?

Hola! Is the 750 watt hub drive on the new Juggernaut Duo powerful enough to help me navigate the hills of Vancouver? I'm 250 lbs. and am totally distracted by Biktrix's presale low price ($1399 usd) during their indiegogo campaign. Sure, the mid drive is proven to be stronger, but seems...

Juggernaut Duo - heard of it yet?

Hi Roshan,This message is sent with total respect, light heart and and curiosity: there seems to be a discrepancy in the above chart regarding the battery voltage on the Juggernaut Duo 750 with motor upgrade, which I'm considering. The stock battery is listed here as 52v,whereas on the owners...

Biktrix Juggernaut 2017 or 2018, used; thoughts?

Indeed,Timpo.Grin is famous and respected around these parts.Hilleater seems exceptional too,but I'm hedging on anything over $2500; just too damn parsimonious at times. Not hung up on mid- drive, just heavily impressed by the Juggernaut's uphill torque. The Voltbike Yukon keeps bugging me to...

Biktrix Juggernaut 2017 or 2018, used; thoughts?

Thoroughly agree, byunbee with the evil eye avatar. Thanks for the feedback.Sondors has caught my eye as well, but ordering from the US may be currently problematic due to Cdn. exchange rate and whatnot. All in time...
