How so? Roadies aren't concerned about cadence?

    What happened to good manners

Well, not the sole purpose. Besides, I give out and get tons of help on this forum. It costs me nothing to be polite about asking for it and shows respect for other members' time and thought.

    What happened to good manners

Absolutely — especially when asking strangers who owe you nothing for help. I tend to pass right over requests with no sign that the poster understands that. HOWEVER, the above attempts to blame specific groups are just plain silly. No one here has the data needed to support claims like that.

Hmmm, what would squatches stand in line for? A popular food truck? A rom-com movie premiere? A police line-up would also work. In rainbow order, no less.

    Chainrings

Replaced my Vado SL 1's 44t Praxis with a 40t Wolftooth to keep up a motor- and knee-friendly cadence of 70+ rpm on steeper local hills. Did this before taking delivery, so no basis for comparison. But no chain drops in nearly 3,000 mi. The 4-tooth size reduction has also worked out well on the...

Wait, that's almost 4 squatches a day! Maybe he's planning a giant all-squatch Where's Waldo mural. Love that chimney!

Show us a recent sunset during your ride!

From yesterday's dog walk on a stretch of Coast Highway I ride all the time: With the moon full and Earth near perihelion, the tide was one of the lowest of the year. Looking south toward the La Jolla peninsula, then north toward Terramar head and Saddleback Ridge beyond. The beautiful...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I'd like to hear how your tire saga progresses. Guessing I have at least another year of wear on my SL's 38 mm Pathfinders, but someday I'll have to replace them. Not gonna replace wheels just to fit a tire, and not quite ready to ditch my 5.0 EQ fenders. So I think that limits my biggest tire...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Congrats and welcome aboard! Still in love with my SL 1 a year and almost 3,000 mi later. My SL has been running 38 mm tubeless Pathfinder Pros for almost 3,000 mi of road, hard pack, gravel, low-tide beach sand, and some easy single-track now and then. A lot of the off-road surfaces have been...

    Recumbent E-bikes

    A century with a climb like that toward the end would tend to attract strong riders. Which makes the recumbent rider going that much faster than all of them particularly hard to believe. I think it was Lance in disguise. ;^}

    campagnolo crisis

Looks like we're approaching the end of an era. My neighbor D has a beautiful red all-Campy Torelli road bike, maybe 20 yrs old now. Steel frame, ~20 lb as shown. The all-Campy part is a great source of pride for D, and I totally get it. Back in my Late Bronze Age road bike days, I dreamed of...

I like it when henry goes squatchless — assuming that that's a 3-toed sloth with a beer in the zoo mural and not a juvenile squatch with a fake ID. Shows the full range of henry's talent and lets us see more of the real world through his eyes.

Show us a recent sunset during your ride!

Old thread worth keeping alive. We've had some doozies lately. From our neighborhood, zoomed on horizon below. From a trip to Carpinteria Beach earlier in November. After 3 years in SoCal, starting to see November as a good month for sunsets. Addendum: Oops, didn't read the title carefully...

By default, dogs aren't allowed on San Diego County beaches at any time. But there are legal exceptions. Ditto for our 3 official off-leash dog beaches. Del Mar allows off-leash, all hours, from after Labor Day to June 15, then on-leash only the rest of the year. Similar rules at the Ocean...
