I've got to take the bike in for some fine-tuning. Gears are jumping and shifting by themselves. I wiped down the discs and they're ok. Part of the issue the brake handles need adjusted.

I had Ashima semi-metalic AD0102-SM-S pads installed front and rear. Brake system is Shimano Deore BR-M6000. Pads are not near as grippy as the old. In fact they feel about like the old ones did when they were worn down to the nub. I need to squeeze the brake handles pretty hard to get the bike...

Update, handlebar mirror. Installed--finally. Should help even though it's small--a Zefal "Spin." I also have a helmet mirror. Helpful info on the plastic plugs--thanks. If I sell the bike I'll get new ones and probably new end caps since they're a bit chewed up.

Update--I took the cheap Ventura Wide Wire basket and bolted it to the rack. Required sawing off the brackets on the bottom of the basket. I zip-tied some foam pipe wrap on the rack. A brass hinge was the perfect size for a mending strap on the bottom. Four 3 mm carriage bolts with washers down...

Thanks, I think I'll explore this route. A YouTube project shows how to lash the basket at all contact points with nylon string, with each loop secured by looping it through the last stitch. Takes a long time but would last. Strong zip ties faster. Going to a shop tomorrow and will also ask...
