    Bollard Posts from Hell

I be the man, and I be the klutz. I never blamed the bike (or piano, to follow your analogy). I've logged thousands of miles without getting hurt until now though. An earlier encounter last summer with one of these bollards might be a more universal example of why I believe these iron posts...

    Bollard Posts from Hell

I was guessing about the bollard purpose, so I'm not sure. Again, it's definitely wide enough to ride a bike through, but not wide enough to allow much margin for error. The comments section from the linked article offer some other harrowing accounts from experienced riders.

    Bollard Posts from Hell

I requested honest reactions, so I'm okay with some tough jabs. I asked for it. It doesn't change my thinking though, and in reality I was fine crossing 99% of the time, which is close to a literal statistic, approximating the number of times I properly zigged instead of zagged across the...

    Bollard Posts from Hell

Pretty much the only mirror type I haven't tried yet is what you're describing, which hangs under the grip. The bar end mirror provides great visibility (although I don't understand why some riders flank both sides with them like Mickey Mouse ears. The left side is enough for observing...

    Bollard Posts from Hell

For those not familiar, bollards are the iron/concrete posts spaced a meter (38 inches) apart at trail crossings. I live in northern New England, but I'm assuming these are commonplace on rail trails everywhere. All the bollard posts I've encountered have been next to gates, which presumably...

    Who's got a Current?

No right or wrong really, but in my situation it's more convenient to charge with the battery off. I've heard a general e-bike recommendation about leaving batteries in place for less component wear n' tear, but given the design of the Current, I don't see that as much of a potential issue.

    Who's got a Current?

Thoughts? Yes. All the reviews posted online are collaborations of sorts. E-bike production enterprises need to budget their allocation of review units the same way a car dealer has a limited number of demo vehicles on hand. I'm sure Court, like most of us mortals, isn't Richie Rich who can...

    Who's got a Current?

Yes Tim, that's it. The Priority brand seems to attract serious people for the most part (by contrast, some Facebook e-bike owner's groups are s***-shows, but this is a very civil group) so it's another good resource. The FB search engine isn't so great though, but the specific discussion I...

    Who's got a Current?

For those deliberating between the Enviolo and Shimano, I'd suggest checking out the Priority owners FB group. I do not want to put words in anyone's mouth, but there was a hands-on analysis by a member that bought one of each for himself and his wife. The discussion goes back several months...

    New XP Lite...

My primary bike (Priority Current) has virtually the same size tires as your RadCity5 and somewhat similar frame. While my Propella Mini isn't nearly as comfortable, especially on a long ride, the 20x2 tires (approx) proved to be the most pleasant surprise. I was warned they might feel...

    New XP Lite...

Agreed. As you point out, it's almost twice the price, inasmuch it looks like a bargain for what it is. What it is, again, is a different animal altogether for a different customer than the Lectric Lite. The weight of the fat Luna is lighter than I guessed (thanks BigNerd for pointing this...

    New XP Lite...

There is a lot to like about that Luna Eclipse, especially for the price. Powerful motor, big battery, and Gates belt drive! Still, it would likely be a non-starter personally, since I suspect it's a heavyweight (especially since Luna leaves it off the specs as far as I can see), and having...

    New XP Lite...

I think it's a lot of work for anybody. Perusing the Facebook Lectric comments section about the Lite, current owners say the Lite is strictly "for kids", or it's for "old people". I don't agree with any of that. I'd recommend the Lite over the original XP's to anybody at any age. Personally...

    New XP Lite...

I'm old enough to remember when bottled water became "a thing" back in the late 70's and early 80's. I thought at the time, "who the f*** would pay for water"? Thus, I realized over time that I'm not good at predicting the consumer appetite for stuff. On the other hand, the first time I rode...

    New XP Lite...

Belt drive would be the icing on this cake, but there is a lot to like here as is. Still, there's a lot of disappointment and negativity on the public Lectric FB owners group about this Lite, and even from one of the Youtube reviewers I just listened to. I maintain that the naysayers are...

    New XP Lite...

I don't need one of these, but I really like this bike as an overall package for most of the same reasons.. I think Micah (Electrek) said the motor actually peaks at 750 watts, which seems like plenty for the majority of hills. My only real departure from your list though is about the tires...

    Who's got a Current?

Inasmuch as you could buy an aftermarket charger for less than half the price, I'd still buy the charger Priority stands behind. Relative to the approximate $3k original investment, another $80 isn't much. Also, based on your riding experience and commuting requirements, a 2nd charger sounds...

    Mini n' me

I purchased a Mini during the holiday season, but given that I live in the land of frozen noses and toes-es, I didn't have a chance to give-it-a-go until earlier this month. I explained my personal motivation for buying one of these on another thread. The Mini proved to be as portable as I...

    Who's got a Current?

I fiddled around with both the handlebar position and seat angle early on, and was able to dial-in a really comfortable riding position. I would suggest you experiment first before investing in new handlebars.

    Who's got a Current?

Priority clearly puts a lot of thought into their bicycle designs, but the extra weight on the back between the battery and rack gives me pause. I'm not considering one of these at the moment, but I'd want to ask them how it might affect the Current's balance and performance.
