Great sale going on now at Evelo

That sounds low. Did you charge the battery prior to riding? There are a lot of range variables but I used about half the battery on two consecutive days riding 30 to 32 miles each day respectively on pavement. I pedaled primarily using PAS 2. I rode on gravel about the same distance a week...

First Time Buyer with Decision Paralysis

Paralysis by analysis is a common syndrome in this crowded marketplace. I own a Priority Current and Evelo Omega (Evelo is located in the Seattle metropolitan area. Perhaps you can pay them a visit). In many respects, both are more similar than different, but the differences are still...

What to compare Priority current to?

Ride 1UP impresses me as a smart hands-on company. I'm still a little mystified that they offer a Gates belt drive on their relatively affordable Roadster Gravel Edition, but not on their higher end bikes.

Yet Another: Help Me Choose ... ?

So sorry about your loss, astrostu. I've been buying e-bikes from DTC companies, but I'm still supporting my local guy with accessory purchases and regular maintenance. With that said, you really can't go wrong with Specialized if you feel strongly about getting a bike from your preferred...

What to compare Priority current to?

I have the Current, and must say I've been spoiled by the belt drive and IGH. I don't think I'd happily go back to a derailleur again. I always remove the battery before hoisting it onto my car rack or lugging it up a short flight of stairs. At around 44 lbs. sans battery, it's pretty...

Frame Size and Fit on Omega

I'm 5'11"as well. The frame is large on the Omega and very comfortable. In fact, I might have taken a closer look at the Galaxy Lux if they produced a larger frame size for that model since it weighs considerably less (although it lacks the long range potential of the Omega). Gazelle lists a...

Reasons not to buy an Aventure.2

I'm somewhat sympathetic to the YT influencers. If they trash the products they review, it won't be long before their supply well runs dry. Generally speaking, I apply "grains of salt" (or shovels of salt in some cases) and do a lot of reading between the lines. I have nothing but respect for...

General question for Aurora/ Omega owners.

Excellent post, and all of your points are well taken. I've been on other cadence bikes in addition to the aforementioned Pedego where lurching makes simple u-turns an adventure. Regarding Point 1, I haven't had any problem whatsoever with the Priority Current zipping across an intersection...

General question for Aurora/ Omega owners.

Double posting ain't my bag either, but I'll add one more comment/question: I have no objection to class 2 e-bikes for those that want or need them. I rented a Pedego brand bike in Florida this winter that had a throttle, and needed it. Otherwise, it was tough to accelerate quickly and...

General question for Aurora/ Omega owners.

Thanks! I'm not too concerned about removing or blocking the class 2 sticker, (thank you, Knobby Guy for pointing that out) but a throttle "ain't my bag, baby" as Austin Powers would say, so I'll be happy to remove it.

General question for Aurora/ Omega owners.

I have another Evelo question not related to the above. I'm not sure if the Aurora has one, but can the throttle on the Omega be easily removed? I'm not a throttle fan, and Class 2 e-bikes are not allowed on at least one nearby trail.

General question for Aurora/ Omega owners.

Thanks for the clarification. That helps. I spoke to one of the Evelo guys a few weeks ago, who played down the optional controller somewhat. It's also not prominently listed as an accessory. I'm starting to understand why now.

General question for Aurora/ Omega owners.

...and I'll underscore what Kreiger said too: "you can still use the app for adjustments to the assistance depending on your cadence". While I like versatility, isn't that attention and effort equal to shifting gears? That's not a rhetorical question, since I know Evelo sells a controller for...

General question for Aurora/ Omega owners.

Sure, that's a good answer, especially since you have experience riding both. I'm of two minds, like someone that can afford to drive a comfortable sedan or SUV most days, and also keep a manual shift sports car in the garage. (Imperfect analogy since I'm contemplating the reverse with a bike)...

Reasons not to buy an Aventure.2

I personally would not have an interest in the Aventure, as I learned over time that fat tire bikes are just not for me. You do an excellent job of dissecting this machine in a harsh, but refreshingly blunt and candid way though. Nice job.

Reasons not to buy an Aventure.2

Yet, the display will tell you how much in the way of C02 emissions you're not emitting by riding a bike, as if cyclists would otherwise be busy "rolling coal" in a big ass pickup truck, if only they were not on their bicycle. (I'm assuming the display is the same or similar to the new Pace...

General question for Aurora/ Omega owners.

The above quote from Electric Bike Review last year. I'm not "inexperienced or have shifting limitations". In fact, I just take shifting for granted, but enticed by the idea of not having to do so, just as my grandparents were likely stoked when they purchased a 1950's Buick with an automatic...

Thank you! Great information. This seems like a super deal right now.

Great sale going on now at Evelo

My mistake. You were clear about owning a Vado, but I lost track. I think the Omega comes standard with a throttle which made me wonder if there is a lag or surge between assist levels that would necessitate having one.

Great sale going on now at Evelo

I rarely, if ever, exceed 24-25mph on the Current, so that's not an issue. Range anxiety is an issue though, and the supplemental battery for the Current is $800, which seems a little insane for a battery. It also looks like a bit of a project to install. One of my motivations for considering...
