I think I understand your gripe regarding the "black bar". I have tried to tilt my bikes a few times when mounted by depressing the black bar and have found it near impossible to make them tilt. I then open the back doors to my car to add or remove items. There must me a trick to it?

I carry my Espin Sport and Aventon Level 2 both on my quick rack 1.25 single. Both bikes weigh approx 60-65 lbs. Rock solid for the last couple of years. I usually do not remove the batteries.

I have the 1UP that I have used for my Frey CC before I sold it, Espin Sport and Aventon Level 2 all with fenders. I have had no problems. I did buy the pool noodle deals from 1UP that seem to prevent fender damage.
