    Good Stuff You Bought

Yesterday, I spend some time on the Tailfin website configuring a setup for two bikes. One has a thru axle and the other has a QR. I haven't gone through with the purchase yet, because I'm still trying to justify the high price. The alloy version (rack & bag), with a thru axle and QR axle comes...

    Wireless Earbuds for cycling

I've been riding with bone conductor headphones for almost three years and I can tell you that above 18-20mph they're near useless. The wind noise pretty much cancels out the music, or what ever else you're listening to.

    Wireless Earbuds for cycling

I recently bought a pair of Oladance OWS Pro buds, when they went on sale. These buds are different, in that the speaker sits outside the ear and the battery wraps around the top of the ear. They're the best sounding buds I've tried, with one major downfall-the buttons on the bud are very hard...

New Carbon Fiber Bike from Ride1up

I'd be really curious to see what the rear dropouts for the motor's spindles look like. I can't imagine they would be carbon. The torque from the motor would surely round the drop out ends in short order. Steel inserts, maybe?

New Carbon Fiber Bike from Ride1up

That's a good question. Since the bike comes with a small internal battery an extender battery would be nice to have on longer rides. I've watched a couple of short videos on this bike, but since the bike is so new there isn't much on youtube yet.

New Carbon Fiber Bike from Ride1up

Good point about the numbers. Just for the heck of it I compared some dimensions between a Specialized Creo (52cm) and the Ride1Up (50cm) Dimensions 52cm Creo 50cm Ride1Up Stack 578mm 573mm Top Tube length 540mm...

    WW Still In Business?

Going out of business VS slowly closing......same thing, same results, just takes longer, and this has been a long time coming.

New Carbon Fiber Bike from Ride1up

I'm 5'7" and usually ride a 52 or 54cm framed bike. For me a 56cm frame would be too big and a 50cm would be too small. :(

New Carbon Fiber Bike from Ride1up

As I mentioned in a previous post, I wish this bike was offered in more sizes. A 54cm frame (medium) would be a great addition.

    I got my Hydra!!

My size small framed Hydra, with the Kindernay hub, weighed 66 pounds, which was the exact same weight as my UC Pro, with carbon wheels.

    WW Still In Business?

I wonder how many people who placed a deposit will be left 'holding the bag'. Their website is still up.

Re-greasing the Ultra motor...is it time?

Glad to hear you finally got your Hydra. 👍 Last year, when I re-greased my UC Pro's motor, I also re-greased my Hydra's motor. While my UC Pro's motor has almost no grease my Hydra's motor had lots of grease (red coloured). Does your Hydra have a regular derailleur setup? Too bad about WW's...

Re-greasing the Ultra motor...is it time?

I wish Pushkar had designed the UC Pro frame with a half an inch more motor clearance. It would have made a world of difference when installing the motor. Side note: I recently came across a Chinese company (Waltly) that makes a custom titanium frame that is very similar to the WW's UC Pro frame.

Re-greasing the Ultra motor...is it time?

It looks like you've got more room between the top of the motor and the frame, compared to my UC Pro. 👍

Creo 2 - Road Spec now finished

Love the gold cassette cog and jockey wheel, but those stickers on the wheels are HUGE.

    Winter Sucks

Two of the best things I bought in 2023 are an indoor smart trainer and a monthly subscription to Fuzgaz. Lately, most of my rides are on my indoor trainer, but occasionally I do get to ride outside. I could ride outdoors a lot more, but it's so easy to hop on my trainer (tee shirt and shorts)...

    Creo 2 vs Cervelo Rouvida

Is the market so dead for a e-road bike that companies like Specialized don't plan on offering one?

Looking for a lightweight city/commuter bike

If you're not 'bike savvy' I'd recommend you purchase your bike from a local bike shop. E-bikes need more maintenance and having a bike shop close by that can work on your bike is a huge plus. I'd also recommend a mid drive power train with a torque sensor. Suspension forks are nice, but they...
